Teachers are demanding schools ban energy drinks after research found children were buying the drinks because they were cheaper than water.
Ummm, how's that work, then?
Darren Northcott, NASUWT national official for education, told the BBC that consuming excessive quantities of energy drinks can cause poor behaviour in children.
Or, more accurately, 'enhance the already poor behaviour the little shits are prone to'....
The BSA, which represents manufacturers, said the drinks were safe for young people.
"Energy drinks and their ingredients have been deemed safe by regulatory authorities around the world," the BSA statement read.
But the teaching unions know best.

So the poor dears need the dead hand of the state to do something that they could perfectly well manage themselves?
As an aside, the DVSA recommend that riding test candidates refrain from these drinks prior to a test as they are already on an adrenaline high. I was sceptical at first, but taking a candidate to test who was so high on Relentless, that his eyes were poking out of his helmet on stalks and was accelerating into situations where he should have been backing off and subsequently locked up both wheels during his emergency stop, I realised that they might be onto something here...
Energy Drinks cheaper than water?
So schools have no water fountains now? Why?
2 Litre bottle of Tesco Value Water (sparkling/still) is 18p, doubt any Energy Drinks are cheaper than that.
