West Midlands Police said Banfield has been suspended from his job and is facing a disciplinary probe into gross misconduct.
I'd love to be able to say it's an open and shut case and they couldn't screw it up. Wouldn't you?

This pc will get sacked. 100%. But they can't sack him until after the court hearing as that's procedure.
The one big elephant in the room is was the woman doing anything wrong for this idiot to try and arrest her ? I think we are only getting the daily mail half a story as usual.
