The travellers who the police described as 'generally good, if left alone' have moved on.

A new padlock and chain have been fastened to the gate at Maise's Meadow.
Won't take them long to break it.

Make them clear up their mess before being allowed to leave, plus return all the things they have, allegedly, stolen. Then wait until they are on the road before doing a stop check on the vehicles and caravans.
Alternately, change the law to make trespass a criminal offence.
Unfortunately, this takes authorities with balls, and there are few, if any, in this country today.
