Brown's Strategy For Appeasing The Restless Faithful...

...throw even more barriers to mass immigration open:
The government has decided to sign the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in full, the BBC has learned.
Meaning that child migrants and asylum seekers are free to enter the country. And why? For votes, of course:
BBC News home editor Mark Easton says since 1991 the British government has argued that immigration control should take priority over signing the convention.

The move will go down well with Labour's rank and file, he added.
I've not seen anything this blatent since...well, since the last time the Labour Party ran into difficulties.

Still, when there's yet another child labour scandal, at least the Beeb won't have to send their reporters too far for coverage. It'll probably be in Islington, rather than India...

I think this in itself could be classed a child Labour scandal...

Yes, of course it is self-serving, as anything Labour does usually turns out to be. Under Brown, it is poorly camouflaged, whereas Blair could generally put a veneer over the reality and hide it from most of the public.
