The Hierarchy Of Data Loss Importance

HMRC lose discs containing the details of 25 million child benefit claimants – big payout for sacrificial lamb, yet losses continue unabated.
EDS lose a hard drive containing 5,000 prison staff members (putting them potentially at risk) yet fail to tell anyone for a year – an inquiry is ordered.
PA Consulting lose prisoners’ dataimmediate sacking for the company and a review into its other contracts.
NuLabour – only concerned over some data losses. The ones that might impact on their dwindling voter pool…

Interesting. PA Consulting are/were running the ID card thing. I wonder if they have been sacked from that particular project.

Well, it's possible they'll make an example of them to try to head off further criticism, but I doubt it'll derail the ID Card project itself.
