What's In A Name?

Well, it seems, if you have the fevered imagination of the 'Daily Mail' reporters, quite a bit:
The new head of the UK Border Force was questioned by a senior Scotland Yard detective over his alleged involvement with a group whose initials spell out a derogatory term for black people.
*gasp* But don't blame the DM entirely.

Blame the idiots at Scotland Yard. You see, there's absolutely no 'racism' link whatsoever.

None. Zip., Nada.
Two former Scotland Yard detectives have claimed that Brian Moore – who was working at the Met at the time – went on holidays with officers in an informal group called the Walthamstow Overseas Geographical Society. The group was often referred to by its initials, W.O.G.S.
There is no suggestion that Mr Moore was ever involved in any racist activity. Nor is there any evidence that the W.O.G.S group was in any way racist, despite its acronym.
Didn't stop the Met investigating it back in the Nineties. I guess that was a slow day for real crime, eh, guys?

Didn't stop the 'Mail' dredging it up now, either:
Following repeated questions sent by this newspaper, Mr Moore admitted that he had been questioned in 1999 by a senior officer, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Roy Clark, over his alleged involvement with W.O.G.S.
I guess for them, every day's a slow news day...

Most cops are NIGS, not investigating genuine scum.

Dismissing all charges, Stipend JuliaMonghead concluded that EDL members dressed in white hoodies and shouting "Wogs and Nigs" in Croydon centre, were merely promoting two little known Geographical Societies.

It's never a slow day for real crime.

Real crime is happening everywhere while the police are wasting their (taxpayer-funded) time on this nonsense.

Exactly! What's in a name?
Here at the North Islington Gangrenous Granny Euthanasia Remembrance Society, we are somehow confused with charity work. An abundance of government allocations and grants has made us majority shareholders in Facebook.

Way back WOG was 'western oriental gentleman' and not about ( real) blacks and was intended to be sort of respectful. There were so many foreigners back then.

So it would seem. Pity those cuts aren't biting here...

Indeed. I wonder how it became so corrupted?
