Streaming TV: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (Prime)

After several films with different actors playing Clancy's titular hero, I was somewhat dubious about the prospects for a TV version.

But I should have known Amazon hardly ever lets you down! John Krasinski was great in the role. The show was fast-paced and had some spectacular scenes, including one set in London.

My wife and I started watching the latest Prime Jack Ryan. Gave up after one episode. Boiler plate crap.

I always liked Alec Baldwin as the first Jack Ryan. I quickly found the films diverted widely from the books to the point where I found some of them unwatchable.
I'm of the opinion that Tom Clancy has been done to death now, and although I'm always up for something new to watch, I don't imagine this being it

It wasn't as good as the first two.

"I always liked Alec Baldwin as the first Jack Ryan. "

He WAS good, and suited the role perfectly.

"Another great read on the espionage front is about Edward Burlington in the fact based spy thriller Beyond Enkription in The Burlington Files series by Bill Fairclough "

Ooh, good tip! I need some reading for all the waiting around in next week's jury service!

Julia - Make sure the Judge doesn't see what you are reading then! Seriously though have a look at some of the recent news in TheBurlingtonFiles website as suggested. It wasn't published when the book was originally released about 10 years ago. It is all mind boggling and the website is like an espionage museum (with no adverts)!
