A Right Good Monstering...

...is being administed to Polly Toynbee in the comments at her latest 'CiF' column. There's 454 at the moment, overwhelmingly negative by a factor of about 150 to 1.

In fact, I'd venture to say that she's being spanked so hard and so mercilessly, Richard Timney might even dig deep into his own pocket for the film rights!

Is Neil D on Harry's Place a fool or just setting up a debate?

I think he has a few good points in there, but as ever with 'Harry's Place', it's just as much a knee-jerk tribal reaction as Pollys...

Polly's so in touch with the mood of the Nation.

re: Harry's

I think David T is worth reading always. Some of the others are interesting, particularly when they have guest writers on say Syria but Neil D seems to be just a Labour hack.

If you can claim taxpayers' money for porn films, and it "isn't against the rules", then there simply aren't any rules.

Come on, can you imagine Toynbee writing the same article if a Tory Home Secretary had been caught out like this? She would have thought she'd died and gone to heaven (not that the 'humanist' old bag would believe in such an unprogressive concept).

Yes. Even though I disagree (usually) with everything he says, Peter Tatchell's articles for HP have always been interesting. Far more so than his usually appearance in 'CiF'...

Never in a milion years!

There's been a cull of some of the wittier CIF commenters of late. Looks like nothing can hold back the tide for poor Polly though.
