..when someone is repeatedly stabbed, in what way is that not a street fight?

You know they have to be careful, just in case the CPS (Criminal Protection Service) decides that no crime has been committed (crime almost halved under Labour, don'tcha know?), paving the way for a libel case.

M'lud, the defendant obviously tripped and injured himself several times in the fall. My client Mr Chav McNasty had absolutely no part to play in the incident.

I found the Nuspeak "life changing" injuries very sinister.

He wasn't maimed or paralysed or crippled, oh no. They make it sound like winning the lottery or something

Presumably if it was a one-sided attack and the stabbed person did not fight back? Then it would just be an assault. Granted that appears unlikely in this case.

That seems to be what they do lately!

That crops up a lot, lately. It's nicely 'non-judgemental', perhaps? Or 'crippled' was ruled out as offensive, maybe?
