More Fun With Photography…

Harry Potter star Jamie Waylett, who plays Hogwarts bully Vincent Crabbe in the hit films, today admitted growing ten cannabis plants in his bedroom.
The tubby 19-year-old actor was arrested in April this year after police stopped him and a friend in an Audi car in London.
No sympathy.

You grow cannabis, which is against the law, then you can expect the law to take a dim view. Even if you are an actor in the latest merchandising opportunity exciting children’s film…

But this drew my attention:
The officers thought he'd been taking photos of them, the court heard.
That was their sole reason for stopping the car in the first place…?

He needs to move to Spain. We are allowed up to 10 plants :)

Unfortunately the police do like harassing photographers. Some recent examples include:

Being too tall

Taking pictures on the tube

GCSE students

Snapping passers by

And you've got the climate for them too! No converted houses with hydroponic systems staffed by Vietnamese immigrants in bondage... :)

"Unfortunately the police do like harassing photographers."

Don't they realise how counterproductive this is? Do they want everyone in the country to regard them as authoritarian pigs, instead of just the criminal scum?

They are certainly going the right way about it...

I think a 14 year inprisonment for a boy would loose him a lot of precious years.

I hope he does not have anything bad..

Send him to Azkaban!

Er, sorry.

It'd be nice to think that this might open up a rational adult debate about drug use but somehow I doubt it. Hopefully he'll get off since if he was the sort of chavscum that makes Shameless look aspirational he'd only get a slap on the wrist for a handful of pot plants, and at the other end of the scale the mind blowingly wealthy Eva Rausing was treated sympathetically when it turned out her sinuses were full of marching powder.

Lol!

"It'd be nice to think that this might open up a rational adult debate about drug use..."

I think there's even less chance of that than of people beginning to wonder why suddenly they can't take a snap of a policeman in the street...
