When Identity Politics Goes Bad…

Opponents of the "don't ask don't tell" policy on gays in the US military interrupted President Barack Obama with heckling at a Los Angeles fundraiser for Senator Barbara Boxer.
Oh, how I sympathise. Riding that tiger is so, so hard, isn’t it, Barack?

You never know when it’s going to turn around and take a great big chunk out of you
The protesters shouted to ask Mr Obama what he was going to do about the policy, which prohibits gays from serving openly in the military.

The shouts grew so insistent that Mr Obama responded.

The president said that he supported overturning "don't ask don't tell" and suggested the protesters should be shouting at the people who don't.
Whining about how they should be shouting at others..?

Hey, you’re the guy in charge! You’re the man now, Barack! Act like it.

Or, get your wife to do it for you…
Mr Obama also told the crowd that Ms Boxer opposed "don't ask don't tell" in the first place.
Pointless. They want their pound of flesh. Facts aren’t going to get in the way of that.

Enjoy the Frankensteinian monster you nurtured and coddled and fed. It’s your turn now.

You get the feeling that a distaste for politicians is becoming "global?".

What on earth has someone's sexuality got to do with anything in the work place, why would anyone ask, why would anyone tell. The minute someone starts talking to me about sexuality whether it be theirs or just the divisions of sexuality my stock response is 'I'm sorry you must be mistaking me for someone who cares at all what anyone finds arousing, please put your thoughts in writing and forward them to HR who may or may not be more interested.' Outside work I have found it amusing to listen to some slag from marketing brag about who she did last week and how, still not that impressed or desperately interested, certainly not generally encouraged to give an opinion.
It’s a bit like the alcohol/drug issue we’ve been discussing recently, I don’t care if your drunk or not, if your shouting, pissing in the street, fighting, get a fucking room.

PS I'm probably not the best person to take advice on matters of a sexual nature from btw. I have found to my surprise and pain that people use this subject for all sorts of reasons completely beyond me and other than the obvious of mutual gratification.

'Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice..' ;)

Well, it seems the kids are all right on that score after all, doesn't it?

They may not be able to read and write, but they know a troughing liar when they see one.. ;)

I think the progressive mantra goes something like 'hetero couples can talk about their sex lives at work, so why shouldn't gay couples be able to?'

Why doesn't everyone just get on with their work?

"They're heckling Obama? They must be racist then surely?"

I wouldn't be a bit surprised! Watch for them to be dropped like a hot potato from all the cool left parties.
