A ban on soup runs in central London could breach the human rights of homeless people, campaigners claimed today.Campaigners? What campaign...
Oh. Right. Her again:
Liberty said it took legal advice from James Goudie QC and barrister Deok Joo Rhee, who concluded any ban "constitutes a disproportionate interference with a number of fundamental rights protected under the Human Rights Act 1998 and at common law".I'm going into Sainsbury right now to demand my free soup! Who wants some?

The comments sum it all up nicely!
Oxtail for me, and while you're at it, Tiger Bread. We need something to dunk.
As everything could be deemed to be a human right, then everything should be allowed, right?
Hmm, censorship and restrictions are suddenly in doubt...
(Tomato soup fan)
The point about the Westminster Cathedral piazza area is that it attracts significant numbers of aggressive derelicts, who sit around all day drinking White Lightning or whatever, barracking passers-by and occasionally getting up to intimidate or harass a passing tourist, young women in particular.
Presumably these people are attracted by the opportunity to supplement their liquid diet.
The fragrant Ms Chuckabutty might care to comment on the infringement of ordinary people's human rights to go about their business without such interference.
How about Westminster Cathedral's rights to give away soup from their property should they so desire?

Liberty, - there are none so blind as those that refuse to see.

It does seem to be restricted to the things normal people don't want or need at the moment...

Oooh, no. That right doesn't even make a blip on Shameless Shami's radar. I suspect there's not enough publicity in it...

If they deal with the consequences Edwin mentions, then fine. But I can't see them doing it...
If the dregs of the underclass want free soup, I'm happy to go to the square and help. The handouts by the Left might be banned, but it's very easy for me to hang around with a placard saying "Want food? Get a f---ing job like the rest of us you leeching scum".
Very un-PC I know, but the left need a dose of reality, and the dregs need to feel the consequences of being idle and unproductive.
