Gene Pool. Chlorine. Some Assembly Required…

Well, of course they all got away with it….
Nicola Gatto, representing the 16-year-old, said a pre-sentence report had expressed concern that he was unable to see the consequences of his behaviour and display any victim empathy.

But she claimed his childhood was 'abusive and chaotic' and he was clearly a 'troubled young man' not of his own making
And you just know there’ll be a punchline, and here it is, right on cue:
The barrister added he was expecting a child soon with his girlfriend.
Lovely! The next generation of feckless, sociopathic, knuckle-dragging wastes of oxygen is guaranteed!
An application from the press to name the youths as a matter of public interest was rejected by Judge Thomas.
Well, that’s somewhat pointless, because I expect by now, the whole of Manchester knows just who the 12/16/17 year olds are who habitually hang around with Gavin Wellesby, who at 19 can be named….

I believe much the same "defence" was trotted out at Nuremberg .. but in those cases, wiser heads on the bench prevailed ..

Haddock,

I assume you think we 'won'?

Won what? A country full of degenerate wasters that impregnate children, maybe?

Show trials have always been a joke. Shame there are none for Blair, Major, Prescott, Thatcher, CMD, Mollybummed, King, Mandelson, Kinnock...... I could go on.

The Germans committed terrible, vile atrocities.

So did 'we'.

@ Your friendly neighbourhood Nazi ..

Firstly, my comment was intended to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek ..

Partly to illustrate the inadequacy & gullibility of those currently inhabiting the benches of our courts, compared with the sort of Judges & Magistrates this country used to have ..

Secondly, of course I don't think we "won" .. history shows us that we didn't, every time we look at Germany or Japan & compare their standard of living & industry with our own ..

As I said in another context :

"And slowly, inexorably, Nature's majestic benefit dependency cycle makes one more turn ... "

Well, it would hardly be with a vacuum cleaner, would it ?

I mean, that would just be Dyson with death .. ;)

Are barristers specially trained in stating the blindingly obvious .. does it require endless practice, or does it come entirely naturally, I wonder ?

Is there a blog sweepstake regarding how long the little paragon of virtue who is going to foist another mouth to feed on us is in court for abuse and torture of the child? I would like six months.

Quite!

"The Germans committed terrible, vile atrocities.

I really don't think we did anything even marginally on the same scale, do you?

"As I said in another context..."

Yup, spot on.. :(

Ah, but we can't. We don't know the little vermin's name.
