Stop Calling For Restrictions That Do Nothing!

A woman has recalled how she was viciously attacked by a rottweiler on a train, leaving her scarred for life.

Amanda Collins, 38, wants all dogs to be registered to prevent anyone else suffering the same ordeal.
Oh, right.

So, it’s reasonable to assume, when we read the details of her 'ordeal', that registration would have prevented some or all of it, right?
She was on her way back from a Stereophonics gig when she got on to a train at Fenchurch Street station.

She made her way down to use the toilet, only to spot a dog sitting between the legs of his owner, who was asleep.

Thinking better of the situation, she tried to slowly turn back, but the dog leapt up and bit into her left arm.

Before it could clamp on, the animal lost its grip on her arm as she turned away, and then it began barking at her.

The commotion eventually woke up the dog’s owner, who asked Mrs Collins what she had done to his dog.
And she was left there bleeding in agony when he legged it from the train, never to be seen again?

Well, no:
Eventually, he realised the dog had bitten her, and apologised.
Ah. Well. OK, so he then legged it from the train and was never caught…

Wait:
Marc Denniss, 36, of Fielding Avenue, Tilbury, admitted having a dog dangerously out of control at Fenchurch Street Station on December 19.

He also admitted it had been dangerously out of control again on January 5 at Chalkwell railway station and using threatening behaviour on that day.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and banned from owning a dog for five years.

He must also pay £100 compensation to Mrs Collins, which will be deducted from his benefits.
Riiiight…..

So, riddle me this; what bloody use would registration have been to prevent an incident like this?

None, right? Good. We can ignore the daft bitch.

And…the Stereophonics? Good grief, woman!

For one horrible moment, I thought this story was going to be all about an overly aggressive ticket collector ..

You know the type .. all teeth, toenails & ticket punch .. ;)

Where does the dog go for five years?

She is just another poor soul who is now conditioned to think that the Nanny State should sort a problem out by banning something or sorting out a register.

I think all drivers of vehicles should have go on an insurance register thus preventing people fom driving uninsured. And ban people from driving when they commit too many offences thus preventing them from driving. Oh wait....why do we have a specific offence of driving whilst disqualified. If they have been banned from driving they wouldn't be driving.

If the dog had been registered i think the dog would have thought twice about biting this woman, knowing he wouldn't get away with it. Perhaps a growl, but that would be about it...!!!!

This dog is just pissed off at getting dragged round bleedin railway stations...

If it's owner doesn't know yet that quizical look it keeps giving him means...

Bugger me not another railway station! When do I get to see fields and frisbees you fuckwit!

As to the Stereophonics; Yep the dog bit her and spat her out again, on account of her extreme bad taste.

To prevent all the shootings, why don't they ban hand guns .....

If it cost two hundred quid to register the dog and a fine of five hundred plus confiscation if unregiustered.
This might have an effect you know.

Actually the ticket collectors on c2c are all very polite and well-spoken.

A far, far cry from when I used to go into London by Tube!

"Where does the dog go for five years?"

Rehoming?

Or, as is usual, 'given to a mate, yer honour!' and will then show up once again at Mr Denniss's heels.

"She is just another poor soul who is now conditioned to think that the Nanny State should sort a problem out by banning something or sorting out a register."

Yup! Working as intended...

"This dog is just pissed off at getting dragged round bleedin railway stations... "

I expect there's the occasional chance to go begging with the owner. I'd think twice about asking either of them for a paw, though...

Hey, it might just work this time..! ;)

Yes, it'd have an effect on all those elderly people with a small dog for company, while the criminals and underclass would ignore it, just as they do everything else.

Just for once, can't we punish those who do wrong, and not everyone else?

Methinks you are the 'daft bitch'.

You are plain nasty, grubby and depressing.it's quite funny though how you court attention by trying to goad commenters on other blogs. They obviously can't be arsed because this blog is essentially boring. Barrel-scraping, cheap, mean spirited bilge.

Most people just ignore you. I'm very kind, so every now and again, I throw you a bone.

Morning Melvin .. got the arse ache because your political ambitions have been thwarted (again) .. even the Limp Dums being able to scrape along without benefit of your towering intellect ?

Given your obvious deeply-held feelings regarding this blog, its hostess & its comments .. one is sorely tempted to wonder why you seem unable to keep away ?

Or is it that this blog is the only place left for you to publicly express your puerile drivel ?
