Well, Why Was He Doing It Then..?

Police told Linda that they would not be taking the matter any further as they believed the driver was not taking part in a malicious attack.
Did they investigate? Question him?

Because if it wasn't a malicious attack, what the hell was it?

Sadly I believe that the police's inaction in this case and the risible excuse for 'no action', might have something to do with the ethnic group that the delivery driver may come from. If this was the actions of say a white Methodist or someone similar, then you can bet your bottom dollar that the police would be throwing the book at him.

I believe modern Policing is little more than revenue gathering. If you are the kind of person who will turn up at court and pay any fine imposed your in deep s**t these days. If your a feckless scroat who won't pay any fine and have no regard for anything or anybody then your above the law.

I would have thought that being suspected of passing on a communicable disease was worth investigating. It is, at least, a public order offence. What on earth are Police officers taught these days? However, what do I (now) know? Thank goodness I'm out of it.

Dear Penseivat, The modern Police service (so called) has no resemblance to the respected force we used to know and support. I think the rot started when graduate accelerated promotion became the in thing. A degree and a years desk training never replaced down to earth experienced coppers. Most of the new senior ranks don't give a dam about anything apart from their own skin and the next promotion. It will be decades, if ever, before proper Policing and public regard for it returns.

Very special, Niche, I would say.

Yup!

"I believe modern Policing is little more than revenue gathering."

Sadly true.

" What on earth are Police officers taught these days?"

Whatever Common Purpose deems they need to know...

"It will be decades, if ever, before proper Policing and public regard for it returns."

I'm leaning towards 'never', because I really don't see how it can ever be turned around.
