Interesting....

Liars blink less frequently than normal during the lie, and then speed up to around eight times faster than usual afterwards.
Just one name came to mind when I read this: Ed Balls.

Just one?

Come one Julia, you can do better than that! There's a whole tabelful of Cabinet Ministers to choose from!

Yeah, but only Ed 'Blinky' Balls has that particular habit. God knows what the rest's 'tells' are.

With Gordon, it's probably picking his nose... ;P

With Gordon? No, it's snot!

Oh, oops! Freudian slip there, I think...

Actually, I commented somewhere else on my confusion with Mr. Balls. He is indeed a 60-to-the-minute blinker, but in a recent interview I noticed that his slightly bulbous eyes were 'blinkless' - very alarming! I wondered at the time if his PR people had advised him and then super-glued his lids open. Anyway, the end result, if you will forgive a slightly crude old Army saying, was that his eyes stuck out like a terrier's bollocks!

Actually, thinking back to the 1980s, it was the "Max Headroom" character who joked:

"How can you tell when a politician is lying?"

"His lips move"
