Three Years Off For Good Behaviour..?

Not quite:
A killer who cut the head off a student when she was still alive and dumped her body in the Thames has had his sentence slashed on appeal today (Dec 3).
Unfortunate phrasing…
Allowing Gian's appeal against his 22-year minimum jail term, however, Lord Moses cut it to 19 years, saying he got too long compared to Yussof, who received a 15-year minimum term.
I suppose increasing her sentence, thereby sentencing them to exactly the same length of time, was never on the cards?

Can't we have a life sentence where 'life' actually means 'you'll leave prison eventually, but it'll be in a box'?

Is any party promising this if they come to power? The Tories? UKIP? Anyone?

No, it's to expensive. AB alludes to the most cost effective and decent option. Me, I would offer capital punishment replicating the crime.

Didn't Jack Straw bravely walk away from his powers to intervene in such nonsense ?

Sounds like the female killer was the lucky recipient of the "pussy pass" in sentencing, seeing as she seems to have instigated the whole thing and was fully complicit.

Indeed!

It's what we were promised when the death penalty was abolished, after all.

"...the lucky recipient of the "pussy pass"..."

Good point! I don't see Harriet rushing to wipe away that little inequality wrinkle, do you?
