Unless it's 'I am a total cock' it'll just be the usual drivel
Actually, it may surprise you to learn that James Cameron has a rather impressive amount of knowledge and connections in the world of deep-sea submersibles. You can see him talk about it in a bit of detail here: http://d8.allthingsd.com/20100602/d8-video-james-cameron-talks-bp-and-the-complicated-problem/
Just sayin', like.
That's some asshole.......
Sorry, couldn't resist!
Hmmm...Dancing with Smurfs meets Abyss...anythings possible...

Oh, I don't doubt that. But a more sensible chap would have offered the advice quietly and shrugged ruefully if turned down.
Only the monumental ego of a Hollywood film director would drive someone to call for a PR person to ensure his displeasure was immeditaly broadcast to a waiting nation!
What was he going to do, let his imaginary blue kitteh-people sort it out?
Sure, Cameron may have some expertise with regards to submersibles, but it's a drop in the ocean compared to the expertise owned and developed by BP.
