What Happened To 'I'll Follow You To The Ends Of The Earth!'..?

The Home Office rejects Zak's claim to stay, by article 8 of the European declaration of human rights, which guarantees the right to a family life, because "if we really love each other then I'd move to Afghanistan"?!
Well, Carina, why is that so unthinkable?
Is the Home Office seriously suggesting that a British Christian woman move to Afghanistan, with a man who is not from the dominant ethnic group, has no family and no livelihood to return to, when our own troops are withdrawing from a conflict that seems ever more intractable?
Well, clearly, it's far more sensible that the UK allow the unrestricted import of ever more exotic lovers for middle-class women to choose between, right?

I note your bio reads:
'Carina Crawford Rolt is a community organiser who advocates for changes to the asylum system.'
Hmmm, so you aren't exactly a naive young thing experiencing their first brush with the harsh reality of the immigration system, are you?

Which came first, I wonder, the exotic Afghan asylum seeking chicken, or the Open Borders egg?

Clearly the CiF editor is well aware how this column is going to play out, as it bears this legend in the comment box: 'Comments on this post will be held in a queue until they have been approved by our moderators.'

Never seen that one before...

Yes, with you there, Julia.

Ah, sorry, no, that was altered to read "moderators," wasn't it.

It's the Guardian. What did you expect...?

...News?

But, for the sake of fairness, let's see how the other tabloids are presenting this major piece of cutting edge news:

The Daily Xenophobe:

"JUST NOT CRICKET! DON'T SEND BACK MY BENEFIT SCROUNGING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT LOVER SAYS DO-GOODER CARINA"

The Sun: "CARINA, 34 DD, BARES ALL TO SAVE HER ARABIAN KNIGHT-don't send my younger dusky skinned Toyboy home!"

The British Tabloid Press-publishing opinion as fact since....well since a long fucking time anyways.

What is it with these stupid fucking women?

My dads ex-wife of over 60, married not one but two (I think they were Egyptians) of under 30.

Once they got the right to live here, the relationships fell apart.

Well fuck me sideways with a big black dog, it's not like anyone saw that coming!!

Does no-one on the right have a shred of rationality? What is wrong with the idea that there is no 'insurmountable obstacle' to the woman accompanying her partner to Afghanistan? Perhaps the Afghanis don't want her any more than the UK seems to want him. Or do you think that all the world will welcome a white woman?

Dear Edgar,
judging by what happens in the various ghetto communities from Backwardistan, I'd say the answer was a resounding 'Yes'.

Particularly if she's well groomed.

If the Afghan, 'Zak' , were an assylum seeker then there are many countries far nearer Afghanistan than the UK in which he might have taken refuge.

When the UN Convention on refugees was drafted the concept was that the assylum seeker would travel to the adjoining or nearest country to gain safe haven, not a country some 3500 miles away."

I could only add a country which has a different religion from the majority of Afghans (of course the few Christians should be welcomed).

Probably time for the Mrs Merton question :

Zak, what first attracted a 23 year old, sporty, asylum seeking Muslim lad like yourself to a blond haired middle aged Christian* left wing harpy who agitates for the dismantling of the UK borders and allowing all and saturday stay?

*(note to self : any Anders B / EDL angle ?)

I knew a guy –– Brit born and thoroughly anglicised Indian –– whose mother insisted on him having a wife from the old 'homeland' so he dutifully married the female chosen for him.

Didn't last long. The lass, finding herself safely on these shores, soon buggered off into the distance to feel at home elsewhere in the UK.

Distraught mother insisted she would find him a better wife, but fuck me sideways with whatever, it happened again. Wife no 2 soon sped off and left the lad wondering what it was with chosen wives brought here.

In other news, I came across a pale woman of a certain (or every uncertain) age with a muscular black guy from west Africa. Apparently they met on her hols and are very much in love now he's living here with his new if ancient squeeze.

I give it six months.

I played cricket with an Indian lad who admitted (whilst drunk)that his English wife, 25 years his senior was a passport, no more no less and he needs a quarter bottle of vodka and Viagra to perform matrimonial duties.

A neighbour of mine had his daughter leave home, very much against his wishes, to shack up with some dago from Nigeria.

She was a nice enough girl, but had a face like a smacked arse.

He was about 6 foot 6, 200lbs of pure muscle.

She was utterly convinced that he loved her, until she found herself on the front-page of the local rag after being thrashed senseless by said dago, dragged naked around the house on a choker-chain and fed dog-food.

He was not deported, as it may have infringed his human rights.

Fortunately, her father infringed his rights outside a pub, a few days after he got released.

Funnily enough, he decided he'd prefer to live in Nigeria after all, and left within a couple of days.

Just what I got, actually... :)

"What is it with these stupid fucking women?"

Oh, if I knew the answer to that...

"Perhaps the Afghanis don't want her any more than the UK seems to want him."

Do they even have a working immigration department? Nothing else seems to work too well...

"Probably time for the Mrs Merton question..."

:D

A happy ending (of sorts) after all, then...
