"I don't know what was behind this. It's not at all clear."

A man was forced to drive around the city for two hours while being repeatedly punched.
Rather an odd story. Who were the perps?
Rizwan Shareef was left badly bruised, with one eye so swollen he could barely see as he drove.

Nottingham Crown Court heard Mr Shareef's ordeal ended when his attackers Ishtiaq Ali and Mosadaf Bashir got out of his Ford Focus.

He ran off and waited for the men to step away from his car. When they were not looking, he dashed back and sped off.
Hmmmm….
Ali and Bashir were both known to Mr Shareef but it is unclear what the background to the incident was and how they ended up in his car.
I’m pretty sure we can speculate.
Whilst the judge accepted that Bashir played a reduced role and did not participate in any violence, he told his co-accused: "This victim must have been absolutely terrified. "You not only had absolute control over him, you had him doing exactly what you wanted him to do.

"Over those two hours you repeatedly punched him.

"Fortunately for him there were no actual fractures. One only has to look at the photos to see what was done to him.

"I don't know what was behind this. It's not at all clear."
Mitigation is going to be interesting, isn’t it?
In mitigation for Ali, the court heard that he has five daughters.
Curiouser and curiouser!
After the hearing, investigating officer Detective Constable Imran Rafiq said: "This was a particularly nasty assault with aggravating circumstances, which is reflected in the sentences imposed.

"Hopefully the victim can now have some closure and move on with his life.

"This was not a straight forward investigation but the hard work was worth it and shows Notts Police's commitment to achieving justice for victims of crime."
Even if we’re not actually sure what caused this crime…

Its a sharia 'thing'.

You see, back in the Old Country, if a young man made improper advances towards one of your virgin daughters then you could have him flogged or stoned.

Unfortunately our RACIST society doesn't make any provision for muslim 'honour' laws...so Sharia has had to adapt in the UK...move with the times.

Instead of 40 lashes you get forced to drive a *Ford Focus around Nottingham*.

Uber-Ouch!

Personally I'd go with the forty lashes....less painful and demeaning.

Am I right in assuming that the DC in charge was asian 'cos the hated whitey wouldn't have begun to understand what was happening?

It's sharia, it's tribal, it's barbaric and it's over here.

Imran Rafiq. No not asian, Rafiq is cornish I'm guessing...probably his ancestors came up to work the pits around Nottingham in 17th Century...

That's a mitigation? How does that work? Had he had six daughters would it have been more mitigating or less?

I may be naive, but I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be guessing happened here. I mean really, is it as SBC said, and the punishment in AngloSharia is being forced to drive a shitty car while being punched in the face? DId they get him to drive anywhere useful like, so they could pick up a pizza, or load up at HomeBase? Or was it just random driving to cost him a fortune in petrol?

/mystified

And I mean, how does a case like this come to court without anyone finding out *why* the incident happened?

No doubt the court knows but reporting restrictions were imposed...the 'MONA' Effect..can't have the public knowing that their muslim brothers practice biblical style justice on the streets of Britain...

Oh no, that would so not be in the Public Interest.

OMG!

I'm so shocked. A Ford Focus!

And yes, I think we should have been told why he purchased such a vehicle... and why he subjected his torturers to the embarrassment of having to beat him up in said vehicle - sorry, I just can say the name again, I feel dirty enough as it is!

I'd let them get on with it so long as they keep it to themselves (same goes for football hooligans beating each other up and slappers scrapping on Saturday nights).

'Ali' is reported to be age 30 yrs so the daughters are not likely to be older than 14 yrs. So it is possibly even more curious....

Maybe he was talking to their cousin.

Five daughters for a Muslim would be some kind of mitigation. Five dowries don't come cheap...

Fascinating. Quite what mitigates such a prolonged attack? Should we expect an exemplary sentence?

I did wonder. Perhaps Laban's link tells us more.

" Had he had six daughters would it have been more mitigating or less?"

Heh!

"And I mean, how does a case like this come to court without anyone finding out *why* the incident happened?"

Those on-line court transcripts would be useful here. I suspect there was much left out of the newspaper report.

"I'd let them get on with it so long as they keep it to themselves.."

I can appreciate the sentiment, but they usually don't 'keep it to themselves'...

Looking on the web Rizwan Shareef is the only person with that name listed in Britain.

On September 8, 2011 he appeared in Leicester Crown Court for a plea and case management.

Maybe the two are linked in some mysterious way.
