A 57-year-old shopper was in a critical condition
after he was attacked inside a supermarket by a man who accused him of queue-jumping.
The victim was left unconscious and bleeding after being punched to the ground in front of horrified shoppers at the Sainsbury's superstore in Merton, South West London.
The victim, who has a long-term partner and a five-year-old child, is in a coma and it is thought he may not survive the serious head injuries which he sustained in the attack, which occurred shortly after 7pm on Tuesday.
You wouldn’t think a grown man would be so incensed by someone nipping in front of him at the checkout, would you? Well, it’s
worse than that:
A dispute is said to have broken out in the store when a woman accused a fellow shopper of jumping the queue at the checkout.
She is reportedly shown on CCTV telephoning her boyfriend, who arrived a few minutes later, and pointing out the man she thought had pushed in.
A 37-year-old man arrested in connection with the assault is in custody at a south London police station.
The woman who apparently complained about queue jumping was also being questioned by police.
Let’s hope they
both get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The ‘Mail’ has a few more
details:
Tony Virasami, 37, from Lewisham, will appear before Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today.
A police source said: 'There can be no more chilling example of yob Britain than an innocent man being subjected to a vicious attack in a supermarket over something so trivial.
'The victim is in a very poor way and it will be an absolute miracle if he lives.' Detectives appealed for more witnesses from among the dozens of shoppers who were in the store.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said the victim was white and the attacker black. Scotland Yard confirmed that murder squad detectives from the Specialist Crimes Directorate were already investigating the case.
Hmm, if the victim’s identities were reversed, no doubt we’d be hearing the usual suspects claiming this as a ‘racial incident’. I wonder if the involvement of the ‘Specialist Crimes Directorate’ is intended to nip any suggestion of that in the bud…?

I've more than a suspicion that the alleged assailant, if found guilty, will not suffer too much, if this evidence of our courts being "tough on crime" is anything to go by. I wouldn't be surprised if he receives a free basket of goodies from Sainsbury's which has form in the "let's be nice to the totally unreasonable" stakes.
Sadly, that's probably the case.
The implication that the potentially-fatal injury may have been sustained by the fall will allow a clever barrister to get him off on a lesser charge, if the CPS actually manages to get its finger out to go for a higher charge in the first place.
The fact that a 37 year old adult apparently has so little self-control that they physically attack another man (of nearly pensionable age) for a slight to their girlfriend (in full knowledge that there will be little consequence or action from bystanders or shop staff), will just be ignored...
Frankly, had I been there I would have thought twice about intervening and then turned away. Not very brave I know but since I'm white, middle-class and male what's the betting that - after waking up in A&E - the first person in line to have his DNA and fingerprints taken would have been me: a lecture about "not taking the law into your own hands" and a warning that prosecution was being considered by the CPS would probably have followed.
Only too likely, sad to say.
Especially since the 'Mail' is reporting that the assailant was on bail and tagged for a previous offence!
I walked into the shop just after this happened! I was annoyed at someone pushing past ME on the escalator - then I got to the top and noticed that he was a plain-clothes paramedic or something, and shut up. There was a lot of blood. I'm sick of the sheer ignorance I see every day in this area (although it's obviously widespread). People's cultures have to change. Respect is paramount. This really makes me ashamed on behalf of the people involved. The girlfriend deserves a slap herself for getting someone to fight her battles for her. She didn't deserve anyone to do anything for her if that's what she thinks is the way to behave, or she can't put her ego to one side and HAS to involve others... I'd love to find out where these two live...
"The girlfriend deserves a slap herself for getting someone to fight her battles for her."
Even better - she's been charged with murder herself.
Even for a really callous murder
you only get what, 15 years? The bullshit law calls that "life". Then the sods appeal against that! Well I hope it is life - like they get murdered in jail, although that would only be the vulnerable people that it normally happens to, not those with a violent pedigree at such young ages. Wankers (haha well literally for the next decade or so, I hope they were virgins too so they're gay by frustration by the time they get out and never breed).
Where does the info that the suspect is black come from? The formatting in your post sort of suggests it is in the Daily Mail link, but I did not see it. Perhaps it was there before but has now been removed.
In my experience the BBC usually does not publish info about the ethnic identity of suspects unless it is practically unavoidable, e.g. if it has been widely published elsewhere or an obviously dangerously person is still at large.
I'm not English, but when people ask me if I've ever been to England I say 'No, but I've been to London several times'. Britain is really filling up with a lot of immigrant scum; in particular, you now have a serious black crime problem that you have largely imported. But I don't sense any political will to do anything about that, or even to discuss it in an open and honest way. In fact, rather absurdly so, the BNP is portrayed as the greater danger (not that some of them aren't kooks).
A bit sad really.

Yes, it was in the original 'Mail' story. They have removed it, also the claim that the murderer was already on bail and tagged (though other news sources are still reporting this).
They have removed it,...
Lovely. It's a bit surprising that it was there in the first place.
Thanks for the reply.
Things are not much better in the US (no laws against 'inciting racial hatred' though), where newspapers have been known to apologize for publishing the literal truth. But at least there they don't fund the blatant media manipulation and censorship with their taxes.
The West Midlands police most wanted page. Wonder how long they'll keep posting info like that -- doesn't exactly fit with the happy talk about 'diversity' that the media puts out.
Why is the victim's photo shown surely some respect should be shown to his distraught family? As for justice these two yobs deserve to be removed from society for a very long time.

Wow! That's a real rogues gallery, all right! Very surprised to see the WMP putting it up, given their other shenannigans lately...

The media don't even understand the word 'respect', any more than scum like Virsami and Richardson. Misery sells newspapers, they think...
This is such a sad story - Even sadder is the fact that the two will probably get off - after all they KNOW their righrs - so what if they killed someone. literally in the case of the man, and all because of the female. Am I wrong in that she is a grandmother at the age of 37? What about the kid who started the whole thing. What is wrong with people?
