The thief looks like another Darwin Award hopeful.
"He suffered extensive burns to his arms and head which were initially described as absolutely hilarious looking, with his hair all standing on end and smoke coming out of his ears..."
Another Newton Aycliffe fail! Down in Redcar, three of them were killed when they tried it.
And another fellow was seriously injured when caught stealing signal cable at the level crossing. He tripped over and hit his head on a platelayer's hammer. Twice.
Nothing to see here.
It's just evolution in action.
Move along, now, move along.
Shame it wasn't raining.
I must admit I did laugh long and loud when I heard it on the radio news bulletin.

Reminds me of my high school Science master. One of his favourite sayings was: The only time you'll be bright is when you're cremated.
Death before Dishonesty eh?
In the old days, Vicars used to preach that criminals who fell off the church roof while trying to nick the lead, had been subject to Divine retribution!
In short, copper is out there for the taking with little resistance to current thieves.
You have to wonder why on earth these bright sparks could not make a living conducting themselves honestly.

Odd to find a Newton Aycliffe day when it isn't...

Watt a carry on, but you've got to feel sorry for them - they haven't got a Ohm to go to....
