On The Sixth Day Of Brexit, The Metro 'Letters' Page Gave To Me…

...wild Utopian dreamers.

Also readers cottoning on, dire 'racism' predictions, touching faith in 'experts', stroppy democracy deniers and baffled angry voters.

The EU fighting people trafficking? That's taking the piss, that is. They're the biggest effing traffickers on the planet. They take the buggers in and then bill us for the cost.

Whoever C. Westerman is, he or she has cornered the market in satire.

Cornered the market in blinkered drivel, more like.

They are fighting corruption as well apparently. hopefully they will continue to fight corruption until their accounts can be signed off by the auditors. Maybe they will speed the job up by appointing auditors that actually do their job rather than just saying see you next year.

Ignorance is bliss so it is said and if that is true there must be a lot of blissful people. There are very few committed believers who understand what Brexit means and there are absolutely none on the remain side. Brexit does not mean stopping cooperation in areas of mutual benefit. Although what they are are up for debate or at least their efficacy are as some of the previous contributors to your article have pointed out. Although any cooperation as long as it does not infringe on sovereignty has to be of some benefit.

In fact Brexit is about sovereignty and the right to self determination and more controversially about anti protectionism. Although the latter is somewhat misunderstood as the EU being a single market it is seen as free trade. Contrary to popular belief it is not. It protects it's members from competition from the rest of the world (the blissful will no doubt say that is a good thing). It also especially when you throw the euro and all the rules and regulations emanating from Brussels into the mix favour Germany's mercantilism and France's anti competitive nature and disadvantages all the other members especially the UK. So internally it is not a free market either.

To destroy even more shibboleths free trade does not come about by treaty. Free trade just occurs when there are no bars to it. People just freely buy and sell to one another and those who have the best quality and priced goods and services prosper and those who do not will fail and no amount of socialising of production will alter that. That way one group always wins. That group is all of us the consumer.

No doubt many of those who read this will have many objections and will dismiss my musing as being ridiculous. I am confident that I can overcome both and could have forestalled them with the simple expedient of explaining in detail why am right but time and space precludes me from doing that as it would require me to write something the length of a book. However by applying logic, reason, common sense, counter intuitive and out of the box thinking I believe nonbelievers would come to the same opinions.

With a bucket....

"Whoever C. Westerman is, he or she has cornered the market in satire. "

If only I didn't think they genuinely believe it...

"They are fighting corruption as well apparently. hopefully they will continue to fight corruption until their accounts can be signed off by the auditors."

Heh!

"Ignorance is bliss so it is said and if that is true there must be a lot of blissful people."

Reality has a way of fracturing that state, eventually...
