What A Night!

Well, it looks on course to be a tiny, tiny Con majority, which is all that iDave deserves, frankly...

Some welcome news (Vera Baird loses her seat, as does Jackboots Jacqui!) and some unwelcome news (Balls retains his). Good to see Esther Rantzen humiliated, even though she did allow Labour to retain the seat.

Update: As Angry Exile points out, Charles Clarke was also herded off to the Safety Elephant's Graveyard...

Not a good night for the Queen Twitt of Bristol East either. She survives but with a greatly reduced majority. Wouldn't take much in a future election to unseat her ;-)

A small majority might just keep Cameron honest. Though really his policies aren't that Conservative, more social democrat (which is why he suffered)

And Brighton went mad and elected Caroline Lucas. Hope those 16,000 or so freeze in the dark.

PS, Charles Clarke lost his seat too.

Argh, so close!

"A small majority might just keep Cameron honest. "

Looking like it's going to be a few more months of bitter infighting, then maybe another election?

We can but hope....

Gah! Insanity reigns...

"PS, Charles Clarke lost his seat too."

Yes! That cheered me no end...

It seems the Breetish pipple get the government they truly deserve. Why the Labour party weren't annihilated is beyond me. Even troughers in 'safe' constituencies were returned, sometimes with a huge increase. MAdness.

Brown still in Downing Street. I just don't know what to say. How could this be??

Reasons this could happen? Stupidity, client state, BBC, useless campaign by Cameron, vote rigging and most of all STUPIDITY.

We are very much all doomed. Doomed!

I see that George Galloway is also out. Any chance we could now have him stripped of his citizenship and shipped off to Gaza where he belongs?

Not forgetting Tom McNulty a thoroughly nasty piece of work & at one time in charge of the Police. He was also a major trougher in the expenses scandal.

It's really not a good showcase for the Mother of Parliaments, is it?

"I see that George Galloway is also out."

And according to reports, he didn't even bother to show up for the result! Incredible that so many people still admire this filth.

Yes, there were a few pearls buried deep in the huge pile of horsse manure deposited in the nation's polling boxes on Thursday.

But my, you had to dig deep...
