I've Found Out Why Police Won't Attend Your Burglary!

A man appeared in court for...
Theft? Knife crime? Child or animal cruelty?
...sending a message to slur (sic) to a woman on Facebook.
Ah. Of course. The 'offence' so beloved of today's lazy modern copper - one with a Designated State Approved Victim and one that can be solved with a few clicks of a mouse.
Alex Francis called the woman a “two faced slag” in the offensive message.

Not exactly crime of the century, is it?

The 29-year-old, of Elphick Road, Newhaven, admitted sending an indecent or offensive message at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
It was sent with the “purpose of causing distress or anxiety”, the court was told.
He was given a conditional discharge, and must pay a £21 surcharge and £85 costs.
What a total waste of the court's time...

But WAS she a 'two faced slag'? Enquiring minds want to know.
Seriously though, this is bollocks on stilts! Time was , this was classed as libel, and the absolute defence to a libel charge is that what was said was true!
Idle politicized plod and whiny twats of all stripes seem to have put an end to that.

So let me get this straight. Is it a crime to call someone a two faced slag to their face? Is it a crime to call someone a two faced slag over the phone? Is it a crime to write a letter to someone calling them a two faced slag? I assume not in all cases, otherwise there would be a lot of people in court for it. So why is it a crime to say exactly the same thing to exactly the same person, just via an electronic communication method?

... and was she two-faced? Or a slag? Probably.

Was the magistrate an idiot? Possibly. Were the police involved morons? Definitely.

Experience has left me more inclined to believe UK police and their political supporters, when they insist they are the best that money can buy.

Well that's another heinous crime cleared up and another successful one for the CPR. Another tick in the don't we look good box! Who cares what happens to the plebs that pay their taxes to support the system anyway? The law is all in favour of the offender which means you can come down hardest on those that seek to defend themselves. After all they are the ones most likely to have some hard earned money you can grab, no profit in enforcing the law on pennyless scum. Go after the motorist is by far the easiest way to rake it in. Victims of burglars, violent thugs and rapists come a long way down the list unless of course they forget to pay for their TV licence then they will get a visit from the police for sure.

Is the truth a defence anymore..?

"So why is it a crime to say exactly the same thing to exactly the same person, just via an electronic communication method?"

Damn good point.

"Another tick in the don't we look good box! "

And that's what it's all about, these days.
