Verbal slips aside, I don't know why our politicians think that the current Middle East conflict is any of their business. Even in his wildest dreams, does Starmer think that the warring parties give a shit about his opinions on the issue?
Stonyground.
To counter Stoneyground, a brief scan of 20th century history, starting with the Balfour Declaration and running through the post-war guilt-trip by Western powers, particularly Britain and the USA, quickly displays the root-cause of the problem. Since then, every government in those nations has assumed some ongoing responsibility for consequences in that region, hence the 'interference'.
I of course start with Turkeys' entry into WW1. And thus argue that it was the Middle Easterners who are to blame.

Perhaps someone is at last thinking of the consequences of having so many of them over here?
"Since then, every government in those nations has assumed some ongoing responsibility for consequences in that region..."
And isn't the definition of insanity doing a thing over and over and expecting a different outcome?

Indeed!
