Baking's Old Hat...

...and besides, the weather isn't favourable. How about trying freezing for a change?
A police sniffer dog died after his handler let him off his lead for a run – and he crashed through a frozen lake into the icy water.
*sigh*

Clearly, it's 'do as I say, not as I do' time:
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "It is important to be aware of the dangers posed by water and frozen lakes and ponds during the current adverse weather conditions.

"We would advise people to avoid treading on iced-over bodies of water at all costs. If there is an emergency, dial 999 and wait for assistance.

"Even if ice looks thick, please don't take any unnecessary risks and don't let dogs or children play on frozen ponds, even if they appear safe."
Time to start taking your own advice?

The comment that riled me was from the Ch Insp. If that happened to my dog it would have added insult to injury to hear that `I had been offered support` or whatever and this had been stated to the media in some pathetic effort to show how bloody caring the police organisation is...... What a load of arse covering, ingratiating mealy/media-mouthed confidentiality breaching tosh. What on earth are these senior dicks thinking?
