I Didn't Mean It!

Velma Hart learns, as did Julian Assange, that criticism of The System brings dangers:
In September of this year, I had an experience that changed my life. I was the woman who told President Barack Obama during a televised town hall meeting two months ago that I was "exhausted" defending him and how I was disappointed not to see the change I had voted for.
Oh oh...
I worried jokingly that my husband and I might be headed back into the "hot-dogs-and-beans-era of our lives". I asked the president if this was "my new reality"?
Hush yo mouf, Velma!
I got an even stronger dose of this new reality two weeks ago, when I was laid off from my position as chief financial officer of AmVets, a non-profit veterans service organisation. I was told the layoff was a reflection of the weakening economy and was not at all related to my job performance.
Of course it wasn't....
Of course, there's plenty of finger-pointing going on. Media organisations in the US and around the world have seized on my questions to President Obama to imply criticism of his administration and of his handling of the economy. For me, this has been very troubling.
If that wasn't criticism - actual criticism, rather than implied criticism - then what was it?

But Velma's desperately trying to make amends:
After all, President Obama inherited a financial mess and has not received the level of support from Congress that we all thought he had when he was elected two years ago.
We shouldn't be surprised. It isn't long into an article on 'CiF' on the economy before someone mentions 'It was all Thatcher's doing!' after all...

It is always Thatcher's doing here, and will be for no doubt the next fifty years in the addled brains of caring 'n' sharing lefties. No doubt in the States it will Bush's fault for a similar period among the freedom-loving, caring 'n' sharing Democrats.

Socialism is always having someone else to blame, someone else to tax.

In other news, I always thought Velma was a name just used in cartoons...

So, remind me, who was it that controlled both houses (and with a super majority as well for much of it) for the first two years of the Obama Presidency?

The Veterans Association has previous of not liking dissent, views or opinions.

Only recently staff were banned from accessing Atlas Shrugs and Jihad Watch, for example.

I don't work for a Veteran's Organisation .. in fact, I don't work for anyone any more ..

I think Obama only got elected for one reason ..

I still think he's a complete & utter twat, who would struggle to run a Whelk stall ..

Now .. let 'em pick the bones out of that little lot ..

Spot on.

"So, remind me, who was it that controlled both houses (and with a super majority as well for much of it) for the first two years of the Obama Presidency?"

Good point!

"Only recently staff were banned from accessing Atlas Shrugs and Jihad Watch, for example."

I wonder if similar left-wing sites are banned? I bet they aren't...

"I think Obama only got elected for one reason .."

Me too.
