"She should not be labelled for the rest of her life within the close community."

Pretty sure it's too late for that:
...the girl's lies were uncovered when detectives viewed footage of her picking up the group in Merthyr Tydfil town centre in South Wales and kissing one of the men, Alex, before they jumped in a taxi together.

Mr Pugh added: ‘Images showed they became very close, with the girl kissing Mr Lewis and placing her head on his shoulder and getting in a taxi.’

They returned to Alex's parents' house and had consensual sex before the girl left and flagged down a police car, claiming she had been raped.

The girl was arrested and admitted making up the claims in June this year.
Yeah, it's another of those 'amazingly rare' cases...
Barrister Mr Pugh said the girl should be named and shamed - despite her age.

He said: ‘Members of the public need to know for their own future conduct and safety.’

But the judge ordered the girl should not be identified publicly - even though her three victims were named in court.
Equality? Nah, we wouldn't want that, would we?

I'm still undecided about elected Chief Constables ..

But its about time Judges were made accountable for some of their more ridiculous decisions ..

This woman deliberately broke the Law & richly deserves to be "named and shamed" .. and to be publicly villified ..

Just as her alleged attackers would have been .. had she been telling the truth ..

She should also be compelled to pay compensation to those whose lives she set out to ruin ..

Silly, brainless, selfish little bitch ..

So it's alright for poor young Alex (no smoke without fire, nudge nudge) to have his mugshot in the paper but not the liar?

what this now two or three victims a week, thats 1000 a year. wonder how many are locked up for a crime they did not commit?

sorry my maths was pre coffe, maybe only 100-200 victims a year, still frequency, identifying appelants and victims, compensation, support for victims are all issues that defy logic, law and common sence

bieng found not guilty is one thing, the man has to live knowing he didn't do it or got away with it. but when there is evidence of a woman having made a false accusation, you know like her confession or independant wittnesses, these cases now must be sent to crown court, in the public's intrest.

Jesus fucking Christ, another one?! I don't mean "another one who lied about being raped" - that's becoming so commonplace it's almost passé - but another one whose anonymity is still protected by the judge even as he sentences the silly, selfish, lying bitch. Being happily attached to Mrs Exile I don't speak for myself here, but I think we've passed the point now where a consent form is far more important than a condom for casual sex.

I see a great need for Wikileaks here. The men involved know the name of the woman. Send the story to Assange, see if he's really into dealing with injustice.

More generally, with the incompetence of the British state, all that's required in cases like this, or the child snatching cases, is for someone to say "Enforce your gag order now, fools".

Given she's unlikely to be earning her own living, that's unlikely to ever happen.

"...these cases now must be sent to crown court, in the public's intrest."

It does at least seem as if more of them are being charged, at least. But the sentencing is another matter.

"...I think we've passed the point now where a consent form is far more important than a condom for casual sex."

Julian Assange would agree with you there!

"Send the story to Assange, see if he's really into dealing with injustice."

If he wasn't before...
