Their hazardous job? Measuring parts of the pavement with a tape measure. I kid you not...

I'm the health and safety officer in MY work place. Sometimes I hit the fire alarm just because I can. I get to wear a shiny yellow vest and helmet. I get to talk to other health and safety folk. I don't have a girlfriend

It's to prevent their heads exploding due to the precautionary principle that rules everything!

Pavements are designated Places of Peril. Kerbsides are forbidden areas for Agents of the State who do not sufficiently Cover Their Arses with appropriate fluoresce.

It's building site, can't you see?

The fact that there are builders there proves it!

PPI is mandatory at all times, common sense doesn't come into it, and discretion is forbidden.

This is our brave new world.

They have actually returned to put in some beds for trees & flowers.

This necessitates more barriers than for a medium sized parade!
