Yeah, Well, Good Luck With That, Diane...

Labour MP Diane Abbott said the case was the "tip of the iceberg" and told Channel 4 News: "Until officers get disciplined for incidents like this, these types of incidents will continue to happen."
After all, they seem to be able to get away with just about anything!

If only he'd been a dental nurse, eh? Clearly, their professional body is a lot stricter.

ßß "Mr Edmondson was arrested in 2011, wrongfully accused of driving without insurance ßß

Since when was there a power of arrest for driving without insurance?

There is more to this than we are being told.

Or is he one of these idiots that thinks the mere fact of being stopped is an "arrest?" Of course, the scumbag papers will always go along for the ride.

Congratulations Julia once again on linking two totally unconnected stories.
When you are quoting Diane Abbott to pummel the police then you have sunk to new depths.Had this motorist been white do you think she would have been interested?
Don't worry MTG will be along in a minute to agree with you,he can sniff out an anti-police story from miles away. Sneering, pompous and repetitive incoming........

Just another Met debacle played directly into Ms Abbott's lap. £120,000 of emollient scooped from from the public coffers, is the standard fall-back position for 'police out of control'.

Another Jaded Seven in yet another baton assault and chemical attack upon an innocent citizen. Discrimination, abuse, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution...and another defendant completely absolved by a trial of only a few minutes duration.

What's that you say...no misconduct again? Golly golly gosh.

O/T
An ex-WC who obtained CCTV footage of a 'set-up' incident involving Steven Gerrard, has admitted misconduct in a public office. Helen Jones acted for "criminal or illegal purposes" on behalf of others when she acquired the recording in August 2013, Preston Crown Court heard.

Decent folk, eh?

I have just listened to Fatty Abbot on this morning's Today Prog giving her views on why 'The West' should not get involved in military action against the 'IS' nutters.

Of course this overpaid, over fed leech and Jabba The Hut look-a-like, continuously sucking on the taxpayer teat is very distressed at seeing the films of hostages about to have their heads cut off and all the other beastliness - BUT - we must do more diplomatically and send aid? Thank God she's regarded as a clown and has no real responsibility or power, it's just a shame she does so well financially because of it.

Of course there's always Yashmak Ali Baba Broon as back up - catch her tonight on Radio 4s Any Questions! I'm sure she has all the answers on the current IS madness and what the UK should do.

There have been two police stories starring people who are in fact PCSOs - this one about Steven Gerard, which, to be honest I really couldn't get nor cared much about. The other was the the Gatwick Airport PCSO who was 'fining' people for cash which is outrageous and she has been rightly gaoled.
But the photos show these characters wearing uniforms not very dissimilar to those worn by warranted officers - especially the Gatwick PCSO but this isn't enough for lazy daily wail journalism.

No wonder there is some confusion, even among journalists as no one can tell the difference between police officers with powers of arrest and plastic plods designed to provide a reassuring uniformed street presence and increase police staffing racial quota improvements post MacPherson.

Of course we never see them on foot anymore outside of urban areas (in London the fat bottomed girls wander around in threes). PCSOs in my part of Kent hold surgeries, staff Anne Barne's useless mobile police stations and drive around in marked cars.

That said, get used to it - eventually the two tiers of privately financed policing will come along and even idiots like Mmelv might have a misty eyed view of the good old days.

Julia - I share your frustration but things simply are not going to get any better for the UK police - only worse.

VOTE UKIP!

Setting out factual information is not your forte, Jaded. Pity about that...being plod and all.

Yesterday's Mail carried two stories of corrupt officials in despised uniforms. It correctly reported Helen Jones as a policewoman. The latter was wearing a PCSO uniform in an old photograph - but had been subsequently accepted as a full time WPC into Merseyside police.
(Hastily adding that acceptance constituted no recommendation or character assurance, in itself.)

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day Melvin so I bow to you today.I have googled her extensively but it still doesn't say for sure either way.
I still can't see what she was hoping to gain by doing the stupid thing she did.
Even in your triumph you have to over-egg the pudding-DESPISED? By you maybe but not in general in my experience. In the DM yes and by this government I agree.

"... so I bow to you today."

If you are keeping some kind of score, you are making yet another flawed assumption, Jaded. As things stand, my sense of fair play precludes engaging you in a contest of wits.

Indeed! I suspect it's what happened after the stop...

"When you are quoting Diane Abbott to pummel the police then you have sunk to new depths."

Thank you! *polishes nails*

You have heard of that adage about a stopped clock, I take it?

"...but things simply are not going to get any better for the UK police - only worse."

I fear you're right.

"Even a stopped clock is right twice a day Melvin ..."

Ah! I see you have. But you don't think it applies to Abbott?
