Today's 'No Shit, Sherlock' Story...

People who regularly smoke cannabis are almost three times more likely to commit a violent offence as those who abstain from the drug, new research has found.
Goodness me! Who would ever have imagined it..?!?
Psychiatrist Professor Sir Robin Murray, a world-leading expert on the neurological impact of the drug, said the link between cannabis use and violence was a ‘neglected area’.
Commenting on the study’s findings, he said: ‘This is not a surprise for those of us who follow the scientific literature or see patients who heavily use cannabis.’
Or those of us who read and watch the news...

Peter Hitchens has been trying in vain to educate people about this foul product for decades, sadly many of us have personal experience of seeing what these supposedly harmless recreational drugs do to previously normal people and the effects on everyone else in the fool's family and friends as they change into someone quite different.

Move along nothing to see here, just another version of bread and circuses to keep the sheep herded.

Wouldn't a study about alcohol use give a similar result? I would also suggest that some of the potential for violence comes due the type of people that you have to buy cannabis from.

How much do they smoke and how often is regularly? In my experience people who smoke cannabis are usually far more peaceful than alcohol drinkers but it all come down to how much and how often. Moderate alcohol users are usually fine as I would guess are moderate cannabis users. Many slanted scare stories about these days.

Doesn't cannabis come in different strength versions as well? My understanding is that milder and very strong types are available. Did the study take account of this too?

He has indeed.

It used to. But the effects are cumulative, you need stronger doses, so most street drugs now are less wacky baccy and more psycho skunk.
