Quis custodiet ipsos custodes...

Graeme “Taff” Williams...was a long-standing “sudden death co-ordinator” in east London, helping to catalogue belongings and find family members of deceased residents.
He continued in the role as a volunteer after his retirement.
And maybe that's when alarm bells should have started ringing....
Williams, whom police bosses “trusted implicitly”, stands accused of stealing cash from two estates, and taking expensive furniture, electrical goods and artwork from a third home when the grieving family believed it was heading to a homeless charity.
Hmmm. So when they aren't ordering porn on your TV, they are eyeing up the TV itself!
Williams, of Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, denies three charges of theft and one of fraud. The trial continues.
Definitely one to watch!

Unfortunately, most UK plod prove to be worse than the criminals they are paid to protect us from.

Utter scum...working dishonestly in towns and villages near you.

"TRUSTED IMPLICITLY" = paid his bribes?

You're the self-proclaimed King of the Blogs Melvin. "Most" means "the greatest amount or quantity" so that means most police are corrupt.
Police corruption always make the news, you do the maths.
Are we more or less corrupt than? *....insert Melvins job or profession here*...because he's never told us.

A morally vacant police federation demands pants with asbestos linings.

Stop telling porkies, WC Jaded.

Prince Randy would be more successful at implanting images of an honest police in the minds of the masses...were it not for that damned Falklands War Wound which has left him incapable of recalling inconvenient truths.

Ah, but whatever Melvin's job or profession is, its unlikely to be involved in being a supposedly impartial upholder of the law is it? Or have the power to arrest and imprison random members of the public either. If the Police Force are of the opinion that they only have to be as corrupt as the rest of society, somethings gone VERY wrong. As the Police have powers over the rest of us citizens, its incumbent on them to be whiter than white. As an upstanding law abiding citizen, why should I have to be ordered around by a policeman or woman who statistically is going to be far more of a wrong'un than I am?

As a careful motorist who experienced dozens of 'routine' police traffic stops, I never provided more than my name, address and date of birth, Jaded. As a helpful and law-abiding citizen, I am always ready to provide said details through a slight gap in the window of my LOCKED vehicle. Such an arrangement facilitates a physically safe meeting environment and spares the driver any unpleasantness arising from external sources of poor oral and personal hygiene. As far as other standard questions are concerned ('Do you know why I have stopped you?' 'What speed were you doing?' 'What's your occupation?' and 'Have you been drinking?') I reserve very cautious replies if I am inclined to say anything at all, Jaded.

What has proved to be peerless in avoiding tedious confrontations with 'Papiere bitte' plod, I commend to anyone who may be otherwise innocently disposed towards entering any sort of conversation with the unscrupulous, ticket-chasing varieties.

P.S.

...and no, I am not getting out of my vehicle to sit in the rear of yours, Mr Plod.

P.P.S

...motorists should consider fitting the BlackVue dashcam (which can live stream through YouTube) or a dedicated mobile hot-spot. These provide excellent methods of dealing with Psycho Plod, who may jump on your mint car bonnet, to baton-access your vehicle through the windscreen. Constable Psycho will then proceed to remove and destroy the dashcam. You can be sure that a pack of lies will be invented to 'justify' an unlawful arrest and that your equipment will have mysteriously disappeared when you collect a seriously damaged vehicle from the care of the police compound. Consequently there follows Clean Underwear Noddy Time for police chiefs and offers of a peerage and/or large sums of public money, in exchange for your silence.

Good motoring precautions are not cheap but they are vital defences against corrupt public 'services'. Be warned and be prepared.

Interesting story Melvin. Do you get stopped numerous times because your car is covered in tinfoil ?

I will be flattered if your above comment suddenly appears on my PND file, dear. (PND is the police national database; the lesser known supplement to the Police National Computer or PNC. PND is one of the least transparent databases operated by the state. PND contents are rarely seen or proven in court and its files are entirely police composed, offering a biased but allegedly detailed insight into the personal lives of 30 million UK citizens. It is therefore hardly surprising that PND is prone to serious abuse.)

Plod detest 'there' critics as much as they detest citizens who make them look chumps...so watch it, JuliaM. A track record for thwarting plod in court proceedings, is a huge scarlet rag to a mad bull. In my own struggles as a motorist, it is not usually my car but bungling plod and careless CPS who end up being completely foiled, Jaded.
