Maybe Henry Porter Was On The Right Track After All...

Hmm, I've had to open a new tag. It seems Sussex Police are going to feature a lot.

As Leg-Iron reports, they (following the lead from the council) seem to be keen to enact the worst parts of George Orwell's 1984 by arresting, DNA gathering and then releasing without a word of apology a man who sent an email they considered to be 'racist'.

Oh, wait, no they didn't. They arrested, DNA harvested and then released a man who employed a man who sent an email they considered to be 'racist'. That they haven't yet arrested that man can only be a matter of time.

It's no wonder that they are considered one of the worst forces for removing DNA taken unnecessarily. After all, they must have so much of it to wade through.

It's just as well Sussex is such a crime-free area that they can spare the manpower for rhyming slang in emails, isn't it? It's not like there are murders to investigate, some right under their very noses, after all. And the place is relatively burglary-free, I'm sure.

Still, I suppose they have to use all those hire cars on something...

“do as you likey”, “do as you likey”, “do as you likey”. There, Julia, will you now be arrested for me posting that on your blogsite?

It puzzles me with this and similar cases, we do not hear of anyone bringing cases for wrongful arrest.

They did actually arrest the sender of the email as well who was Paul Osmond.
The Business owner himself did not want to be named in the article.

2nd para from the end. He was also arrested, bailed and then NFA

Businessman arrested over email

Two arrests, must have done wonders for thier 'hate crime' stats, promotions all round for the SMT

Bloody gypos! You only have to glance around the marshes surrounding the picturesque Tibury Fort to see why Essexmen, in particular, despise pikies. They steal hay, petrol, use red diesel, leave junk everywhere, pinch galvanize, ignore planning regulations and are the biggest pain in the arse to law-abiding Britons everywhere.

So "likey" sounds like a racist word? FFS.

So "bigger", "pew" and "muslin" are racist?

Phew, no typos.
