I’m Not Being Judgemental Here…

…but this man seems to be an utterly hopeless wanker in every sense of the word:
Mardell Junior Pennant exposed himself in public on three occasions at the same time as performing an indecent act, Nottingham Crown Court heard.

He committed the acts shortly after being released from prison having committed similar offences.
But it’s not his fault! He has a syndrome!
As Pennant was arrested, he told a police officer: "Someone needs to help. I need help. I just can't stop doing it. Jail just doesn't help. No one helps."
Oh, you’re wrong there, chum, jail helps a lot. It helps the women who’d rather not be subjected to this sort of behaviour.
When the incidents were reported to police, they knew Pennant was responsible because of his history, having committed nine previous exposures.
And not just that history, either; he has another, darker history:
Pennant, who had previously served 18 months in a young offenders' institution for his part in a fatal attack on father-of-four Kamal Raza Butt in 2005, was locked up for two-and-a-half years by Judge Jonathan Teare at Nottingham Crown Court.
Though, it has to be said, he’s doing better than others alleged to have been involved in that attack…
Judge Teare said: "I have to try and make sure that the public are protected from your behaviour."
Note the ‘try’ there…

Why does he feel the need to qualify it?
In January 2010, Pennant was jailed for two years after pleading guilty to two counts of exposure. His sentence was halved by the Court of Appeal in July 2010.
Ah. Of course.

That’s why…

This court of appeal business has me thinking...

If they're going to appeal anyway then might as well sentence double every time.

Who knows, a few original sentences might stick and even if halved would at least almost be fair...

I know what you're thinking, Cap'n: you're thinking Man Of No Trousers.

But then again, perhaps his name was Mardell and the Junior Pennant was what he was exposing?

@ Mick T

Persackly .. I was wondering about the veracity of the witnesses ..

I mean just how many people can actually tell the difference between a Pennant & a Burgee ? .. ;)

xackly so, Cap'n, and as we knows,'tis all to do with the relationship twixt the width and the height at the mast or shroud.

SNORK!

"If they're going to appeal anyway then might as well sentence double every time. "

No doubt some would, if they could, but aren't they constrained by sentencing guidelines?

"But then again, perhaps his name was Mardell and the Junior Pennant was what he was exposing?"

:D

XX a fatal attack on father-of-four Kamal Raza Butt XX

Kamal Raza Butt? Does not sound as if it was an offence, to me.
