A chicken rustler who stole more than 100 birds – and left a macabre trail of feathers and heads in his wake – was starting a prison sentence this week.
Dasdardly act! We used to hang livestock thieves, didn't we?
Stanilslaw Miroslaw-Dziedzic was due to stand trial at Croydon Crown Court but pleaded guilty at a pre-trial review. The 41-year-old, of no fixed address …
Ah. I see.
The farm's owner, Toby Kent, said he had been forced to foot the bill for the loss of livestock which had also included ducks and geese.
He said: "We did not get any damage costs or anything like that; they said we would have to do a private prosecution so I decided to swallow it and just carry on.
"At least I know he got the six months.
"I just sort of said that is about the best I could have hoped for. We replaced them [the livestock] fairly promptly and hopefully that won't happen again."
No wonder the government wants to keep their lips tightly zipped about the anticipated figures for expanded Eastern European immigration, eh?

I didn't realise you couldn't get damages in a criminal case. That seems bonkers to me, given that the facts surely must have been gone into in a lot of detail and the burden of proof is higher.

Has the cat been running across your keyboard again?
And will matey get deported on his release for being a totally useless waste of space that does this country no good at all but does do a fair bit of harm?
Of course not,what I thinking?
His presence enriches us so much, tony blair said so,and we all know what an honest chap he is dont we?
How did poor old England manage for all these years without all these hard working immigrants?
A most perplexing mystery.
'No fixed abode' means no-one will miss the bastard if you bury him in the back 40 under the hedge.

Me neither - I've often seen compensation mentioned, but perhaps there's a limit?
"Has the cat been running across your keyboard again?"

We must ask if THIS bastard is English, let alone the thief.
