As the bridge across Southend High Street undergoes renovation, the shops to the sides have clearly prevailed upon the builders to ensure that customers are left in no doubt that they are open.

Hence a sign has been placed on the blue boards covering the work areas:

That puzzled me. I'd never heard of 'Clarie's'...
