Musical Interlude

Apropos of nothing, but just because it's absurdly catchy, and sounds like one of those songs that's been around for ages, yet it's new:

It sounds like it's been around ages because it has. The tune is 'Hernando's Hideaway' from 1954, with slight variations. That's why you could swear you have heard it before. You have - many times! That's not a criticism, just an observation. I quite like it.

It's still great. I used to love The Mavericks, not least because Raul Malo sometimes used to co-write songs with Al Anderson who used to be in the great NRBQ. If you haven't heard of them, check out "At Yankee Stadium" or "Grooves In Orbit" which are pop masterpieces.
