The trial of a couple accused of being in possession of an out-of-control dog has been adjourned.Oh..?
Urfan Ahmed and Linda Hood, both of Burdock Close in Broadfield, appeared at Horsham Magistrates' Court last Thursday.Gosh! Urfan Ahmed, eh? Again! Some people just don't learn, do they?
They are accused of allowing a dog to enter the access lane to Cottesmore School, in Buchan Hill, Pease Pottage, on July 11 last year, giving grounds to believe it could injure someone.
They are also alleged to have been in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control in Buchan Hill Between July 11 and August 29 last year
Ahmed, 35, is also accused of being in possession and having custody of a dog while disqualified.Hood's a new name in the picture, though.
Hood, 46, is charged with helping Ahmed to ignore the ban.And we have a photo to go with it:
Curiouser and curiouser... And I think I'd look glum too, if I were her!
No-one seems to be asking the more important question of just why savage dogs are so important to this 'family' (using that term in the loosest possible sense) that they keep breaking the law to keep them.
Maybe another story in the same paper has a possible answer?
Nazir Ahmed, 38, of Cotton Walk, Broadfield, was sentenced to five years for conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis.
He is the dad of 18-month-old Zumer Ahmed, who was killed by a dog owned by his brother Urfan in April last year.Ah. That's what people call a 'clue', isn't it?
