These Things Are A Menace!

No, not what you are thinking....
Tributes have been paid to a 'precious' teenage boy who died in a crash on the Essex border earlier this month. Ishmael Sankoh, 17, has been named after he died in a crash on Elsinge Road in Enfield shortly before 11pm on October 4.

Precious - the dictionary definition says 'Of high value, greatly esteemed or charished' and Reader, I cannot say hand on heart that anything of value was lost here.

Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade and London’s Air Ambulance. Upon arrival, they discovered a car and e-bike had been involved in a collision.

If I had a penny for every time the words 'e-bike' featured in a story I read abount young death, I'd have enough to buy one of the wretched things, but since I haven't got a death wish, I've no desire to.

In tribute to him, Ishmael’s family said the following: “It’s hard to find the words to express the pain of losing you, Ishmael. You were more than a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin and a friend; you were a precious part of our family, and your presence brought something special into all our lives. God called you too soon. You were smart, you were kind, and you made your family so proud in everything you did. You loved football, you loved computers, you loved life.”

But you clearly didn’t value your own safety or you wouldn’t have chosen a method of transport with this safety record.

Detective Inspector Simon Ager, from the Metropolitan Police Service, said: Our investigation remains ongoing and we are working to establish the full circumstances of the collision. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage from the area at around the time of the incident.”

Oh, c'mon, Simon, you know enough already, since your very organisation is putting out this warning.
