On The Sixth Day Of Christmas, Multiculturalism Gave To Me...

….many interesting and lucrative jobs for lawyers:
Country Style Foods Limited was ordered to pay Latvian-born Anastasija Bouzir about £7,000 in compensation following an employment tribunal's ruling that it failed to offer her a job at its bread factory in Wickham Road, after she wore a Muslim headscarf to her interview.

The tribunal rejected the race discrimination claims of Mrs Bouzir's husband, Noureddine – who claimed he was turned down for a similar job because of his Algerian origins – but the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) later granted him another hearing.
Appeals for all! Someone else is paying!

Also, new and interesting methods of fraud, a feeling of being 'untouchable', the marginalising of our Christian heritage, the concept of victim perception of racism and a partridge in a cardboard box.

It wasn't as though she was causing any offence. You know, like wearing a crucifix.

I haven't been commenting on your blog in a while for a reason Julia.

Every inane story you pick up and justly decry just sends me further into that pit of despair.

I'm not sure I'll ever understand what happened to our country except in generously allowing others to reside with us, it has been turned into a shitpit and den of iniquity.

To make matters worse, we natives are constantly being taken for fools, all with the backing of those who are in power and meant to protect us.

The sooner politics and the judiciary are overhauled, the better. This system has ceased to function.

What so if I turn up wearing a muslim headscarf they HAVE to give me a job? Or can I just take the £7k and move on to the next mark? Why did the idea of muslim headscarves disappearing from Liverpool cross my mind! (I'll get my coat...)
TTFN :)

Instructions for new Brits:

1) Go to Gt Britain, get a lawyer who will whore for cash, and apply for job. Any job will do as you will not be doing it;

2) Do something at interview that won't get you the job and scream blue murder about your rights. Consult lawyer and agree division of profits;

3) Accept compensation handout, pay lawyer;

4) Go back home to shit country you came from and live in luxury, fondly remembering the idiot British.

Such a pity I'm not 20 years younger. I would go to an interview wearing a kilt and co-ordinating tartan tammy plus my rather lovely platinum cross diamond studded earrings. I would be really comfy in my retirement after suing every prospective employer for racism and bigotry. Knowing my luck though I'd get the job!

Like Sue I despair.

It is very simple: don't ever employ anyone to do anything.

Much less risky to hire contractors, or to start manufacturing somewhere else.

O? Unemployment? Who'd a thunk it?

No .. the system is working exactly as planned by Blair .. and don't forget that Cameron once described himself as being the "heir to Blair" ..

None of this has come about by accident .. but as the deliberate plans of those who would seek to destroy us from within ..

I'd like to see politicians and judges overhauled, as in hauled over the nearest lamposts by nooses around their necks.

Can someone please explain why a Latvian woman with a Christian name should go to a job interview wearing an Islamic headscarf? It's hardly her natural ethnic dress, is it? Or is that part of the cunning plan?

A lot of them don't. I know of a several modest companies (beauticians, web desiners, shopkeepers, plumbers) who won't have employees at all. When I ask them why not, as this caps the work they can do, they say:
1) It is complex and you quickly run in to gaming of the benefits system.
2) It is a pain to get someone to take the job seriously.
3) If it is a young person in e.g. plumbing, it is very tiring doing the training and you very easily find you are suddenly responsible for their love-life, health and finances, not just their professinal training.
4) They tend to wander off and there is nothing legally you can do about this.
5) It is only too easy for them to make a complaint and waste your time at a tribunal.

So they've gone back to being one-man bands and regretfully have to turn down some business.

Can I have a new keyboard please!

Why? I wasn't concentrating whilst reading at first. Read your post at 19.56 and spilt my coffee on it, not to mention nearly having a stroke in shock.

It wasn't so much the kilt so much as the entire ensemble (including diamond studded earrings) that did it. I really don't feel well, please put those knees away.

Ok. I'll concentrate and read in order from now on.

Other than that, agree whole-heartedly with your comment 19.18

Oh, subrosa - pics, pretty please :-)
(ducking and running away really fast as I typed that)

It does get a bit 'Oh god, MAKE IT STOP!' from time to time, doesn't it?

"Go to Gt Britain, get a lawyer who will whore for cash..."

Aren't those last five words redundant?

"It is very simple: don't ever employ anyone to do anything."

Indeed, as WoaR points out, that's exactly what most people are doing.

Employment figures down? Why, yes, funny that, eh?

"Can someone please explain why a Latvian woman with a Christian name should go to a job interview wearing an Islamic headscarf?"

A convert, perhaps?
