Not ‘Certain’…?

A male psychiatric nurse jailed for setting fire to and killing his partner is likely to be barred from practicing medicine this month.
Only 'likely'..?

Who was his partner, anyway?
Aiah Tondoneh, 44, from Cricklewood, was jailed for at least 21-and-a-half years in May last year for the murder of nurse Donna Drepaul at her home in Clifton Court in Biggerstaff Street, Finsbury Park.

Ms Drepaul suffered severe burns after Tondoneh poured petrol over her and set her alight. She died on July 4 2010 two days after the attack.
Maybe lunacy is contagious..?

From the original article: "Tondoneh is facing a hearing at the Nursing and Midwifery Council for misconduct in light of his conviction, and is likely to be struck off.

Ahuh...because setting people on fire isn't grounds for an outright sacking but not turning up for work for 21 and a half years just might be but they need to think about it a bit.

To coin a phrase..."I..I just..."

No, not contagious, it's just that mental health tends to attract those who have either personal or familial histories of mental health problems.

I remember when I trained (in general nursing) that most of those in the mental health course seemed to have more 'issues' than their patients. (Before I get lynched by colleagues, I know the majority are normal professionals).

The NMC has always been a joke more concerned with it's own power base (and wimmins rights) than maintaining any semblance of professional standards.

So from it's perspective it's a done deal he is struck of the register, just not necessarily for the reason you or I would think.

Just a small point, they don't practice medicine. They are nurses. So the journalist can't even define his terms properly.

As to this nurse, given the surname, was he practicing some sort of voodoo? There's probably an NHS-funded progamme for that sort of thing in that part of London.

Sorry Julia. That was you. Not the journalist.

Actually given that he's a lot blacker than her, does this count as a 'race hate' crime?

I think we should be told.

Like far, far too many formerly good professional organisations.

"...they don't practice medicine. They are nurses. So the journalist can't even define his terms properly."

I'm beginning to think 'journalist' is a bit of a misnomer for today's crop...

No, that's a direct quote!

"Actually given that he's a lot blacker than her, does this count as a 'race hate' crime?"

Well, blacks can't be racist towards whites, according to that well-known expert, Lee Jasper. I don't think he's ready to venture into these waters just yet... ;)
