Even Fox Mulder Wouldn't Touch This One...

...and come to think of it, didn't Dana Scully have something rather pithy to say about the ability of government to maintain a coverup?
MPs are calling for a Hillbsorough-style independent panel inquiry into claims...

Wait for it...

...of an alleged Government cover-up over the toxic death of a seven-year-old schoolboy during floods ten years ago.
Yes, it's this case. Again.
The Mail on Sunday has highlighted the decade-long crusade by Zane's parents, Kye Gbangbola, 57, and Nicole Lawler, 46, to uncover the truth about the tragedy.

Well, no, actually, what they want to uncover is someone other than themselves to be to blame.

Gas detection kit worn by firefighters at the scene sounded the alarm for hydrogen cyanide at the property and neighbours were evacuated.
Zane's death was discussed at an urgently-convened Cobra meeting in Whitehall later the same day.
But a coroner's inquest later concluded that Zane's death was due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The coroner Richard Travers said fumes from a petrol pump hired by Zane's parents to clear water from their home was to blame.

But that would mean shadowy forces weren't to blame, and the parents can't have that, as it points the finger back at them.

The family's home in Chertsey, Surrey - where Mr Gbangbola and Ms Lawler still reside - flooded again last month during Storm Henk.

I wonder how they cleared that floodwater?

Sometimes, There's No Conspiracy...

...but it's considered far more palatable than the truth.
Firefighters have accused the Government of covering up the death of a seven-year-old schoolboy killed by toxic poisoning when his home was flooded.
Crews who recovered the body of tragic Zane Gbangbola have also joined a growing chorus of MPs and legal experts demanding an independent inquiry.
Yes, it's this long running saga.
Lee Belsten, secretary of the Fire Brigades Union in Surrey, said: ‘It was our firefighters who detected hydrogen cyanide at the property and our members believe that the verdict of the coroner was highly questionable. We will expose the true events and hold to account those individuals and authorities who we believe lied and withheld crucial evidence.’
And after that, you'll find Judge Crater, Shergar, and the real killer of OJ Simpson's ex-wife...?

Well, In A Way, It Was 'Related To Floodwater'...

...albeit not quite in the way people envisaged:
Hosted on the website 38 Degrees, the campaign is aiming to hit the key 100,000-signature threshold needed to trigger a debate in Parliament as to what caused the death of seven-year-old Zane at his home in Thameside, Chertsey, on February 8.
Zane died from an unspecified illness, believed to be related to floodwater in the family home.
No need for a debate:
Surrey Police said today: ‘Further tests have now been completed by the pathologist who has given a result of carbon monoxide intoxication.
‘A petrol-driven pump was seized from inside the home address at the time of Zane’s death and Surrey Police is conducting further inquiries to establish whether there is any liability or criminal offences in respect of the hire company who provided this equipment.’
What about the parents who used the pump?
Vijay Ganapathy, from law firm Leigh Day, who is representing the Gbangbola family, said: ‘We welcome this full post-mortem report, which will form part of the information provided to the coroner when the full inquest into Zane’s death takes place.
‘We await further information provided by other agencies following their investigations, as many questions still remain unanswered into what toxins were present within the property on the night of Zane’s death.’
Is 'utter stupidity' considered a toxin?
