Daniella Costea felt she 'had no other option' when she hid £150 worth of items, such as medicines and food, in her skirt to steal on Monday, June 29.

The 34-year-old mum 'suffered a loss of liberty' as she was arrested and spent 16 hours in police custody, Birmingham Magistrates' Court heard this week.
Costea pleaded guilty to theft on Tuesday (July 21) and was issued a fine by the court - which heard "money was extremely tight" for the family.
And she’ll no doubt steal again to pay the fine! Hmm, it’s almost like the magistrates hadn’t thought of that, eh, Reader?
The chair of the Magistrates' told her: "It turns out this wasn't your finest hour. We recognise that you spent a night in a police station which must have been quite an unpleasant experience for you." She must now pay £197 to the court - including the £80 fine.
No, chairman, it’d be an unpleasant experience for you and your fellow middle class compatriots on the bench, but for her, it’s a work-related accident.

Quite a few female shoplifters, sorry, thieves, wear specially adapted skirts and outer clothing to hide items they are stealing. If this woman had such a skirt, and it appears she did, then I have no sympathy for her spending the night in the cells.
Quite a few years ago, a store issued a notice to those caught stealing, banning them from the premises. If they then returned and tried to steal, the offence became burglary "entering premises, or part of a premises, and steals". A more serious offence with a higher punishment level. Shame more stores don't do the same.
