Yes, You Have Been...

...like so many others who have lost loved ones in similar circumstances. And you won't be the last, either.
Relatives of a ‘respected’ dog walker kicked to death by a paranoid schizophrenic today said they had been ‘let down’ by the authorities who allowed his killer to live in the community.

Hard to disagree,

Gary Carlisle, 62, was attacked at random by mentally ill stranger Jacob Hill, 32, near his home in Preston, Lancashire, early on March 12 last year. CCTV footage showed Hill behaving erratically before approaching Mr Carlisle with his arms outstretched just after 6am.A ‘plainly frightened’ Mr Carlisle, who was walking his dog, named Molly, backed off and ran away. But he was chased by Hill who jumped on his back and dragged him to the floor, Preston Crown Court heard.
Several shocked commuters witnessed the incident, including a female bus passenger who confronted Hill and shouted: ‘What are you doing? Stop.’ In response, Hill headbutted the woman in the face, before police and paramedics arrived on the scene.
Officers twice discharged a taser to incapacitate Hill, who was arrested shortly afterwards.

I'm tempted to suggest they need ones with more voltage. Or to deal with mental cases far more permanently.

In a victim impact statement, read to the court, Mr Carlisle’s sister, Jackie Watters, said their family had been 'let down' by authorities who allowed Hill to live in the community with 'normal people' like her brother.
‘He has been snatched away from me,’ she said. ‘It feels so unfair. I can never forget those hours sat in the intensive care unit looking at him, stroking him… a man with a swollen head displaying every line, crease and bruise.
‘The staff said they were the worst ever injuries seen in the ICU.’

Yes, you have undoubtedly been let down - by people who will never face any consequences for it.

His daughter, Simone Hartley, added: ‘He (Hill) was known to mental health when he did this. ‘Our lives have been toppled upside down but he is okay and is being treated in hospital.
‘Things need to be different. I do feel we have been let down. Changes need to be made so it doesn’t happen to someone else.

But they won't be.

Another Sacrifice To The NHS...

...and no-one will face a single day of jail time for it:
A schizophrenic man brutally killed a Travelodge receptionist after a string of errors saw him moved into a hotel without medication, a coroner has ruled. Stephen Cole, then 32, savagely attacked Spanish national Marta Elena Vento, 27, who was working at the Travelodge in Christchurch Road, in Bournemouth, with a set of hair clippers on December 9 2020. Cole attacked her during a psychotic episode and struck her with a grooming appliance in a 42 minute assault.
Cole, described as 'completely disengaged' had been released from jail despite the reservations of a prison psychiatrist. He had left prison with just a four week supply of the antipsychotic drug that kept his condition stable. He was later seen by several health care professionals and police officers before the fatal attack.
Today, Dorset coroner Rachael Griffin ruled that Ms Vento was unlawfully killed.

But not, Reader, by those medical staff and police officers who utterly failed in their job. Of course.

He was later moved into the Travelodge on Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, with staff not told about his condition or his violent outbursts. On December 7, a police offender manager for sexual or violent offenders, visited Cole at the Travelodge and described him as 'completely disengaged' and 'almost blank'.
However, he failed to inform Travelodge staff of the danger he posed to them or guests and simply left.

I think he didn't really understand the term 'manager'.

The coroner said there was a 'systemic failure within PPG care' which created a chain of events which led to her death.

You don't say?

Benjamin Burrows, the lawyer representing the family, said: 'The clear conclusion is that Marta's death aged just 27 would have been avoided.
'If Practice Plus Group had provided continuity of care to Stephen Cole on his release from HMP Winchester it would have probably meant that he stayed on his medication and he would not have relapsed into psychosis.'
'The same would have happened if Dorset Police had properly assessed and managed Cole's risk.
'Either of those steps would have prevented Cole killing Marta. This is very difficult for the family to come to terms with, but finally gives them the answers they have been waiting for.

And hopefully a good reason to take Practice Plus Group to the cleaners in a civil suit.

Clearly, They Did Have Something To Hide

The Department for Work and Pensions has been accused of blocking a whistleblower who repeatedly raised the alarm about carer’s allowance from giving evidence to an independent review of the scandal-hit benefit. The DWP staffer was told by a senior official it was inappropriate to share with the review their knowledge of the inner workings of a system that has become notorious for its often cruel treatment of unpaid carers.

Exactly the sort of thing a review would need to know in order to be effective, in other words.

The review will examine how hundreds of thousands of unpaid carers ended up with huge debts and in some cases a criminal record for mostly minor and accidental breaches of carer’s allowance benefit earnings rules. Approached by the Guardian last month with evidence that officials had rejected requests from individual staff members to make submissions to the review, the DWP said there was “no blanket ban” and it wanted “everyone” to contribute.

Liars all…

However, when the whistleblower, Enrico La Rocca, subsequently reapplied for permission he was told by the DWP’s personnel department that it would not be appropriate for him to give evidence.

And why?

The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) general secretary, Fran Heathcote, criticised the DWP for blocking frontline officials from testifying. She said: “It made no sense at all to stop our members at DWP giving evidence to the review. These are the very people the review should be hearing from.” She added: “They are the workers delivering the services and have the evidence the review needs to hear. Stifling their testimony looked like they had something to hide.”

They almost certainly do.

They Look After Their Own....

The independent report, published on Wednesday, found that Calocane had refused to take depot medicationslow-release antipsychotic drugs administered via injection – each of the four times he was sectioned before the attacks.

And why is someone able to do this?

The report states: “The inpatient teams involved in Calocane’s care were trying to treat Calocane in the least restrictive way and took on board his reasons for not wanting to take depot medication, which included him not liking needles.”

I don't recall that being a good excuse for those threatened with the sack for refusing the covid jab, do you?

So, didn't they think he was dangerous? Reader, they did - when it was their necks on the line:

The report also found that a risk assessment in February 2022 had urged staff not to visit Calocane at home and if required to do so, not to go alone. The risk assessment notes state that Calocane had a “history of violence and aggression when detained … violence and aggression towards housemates … poor insight [and] does not agree that he has been unwell over the last 12 months”.The report found that the assessment had looked at the risk to staff, but it did not consider how to manage the risk of Calocane not taking medication and the “potential acts of violence” that could follow.

The potential acts of violence that were sadly carried out on innocent members of the public, and not the NHS wasters and sycophants treating this monster in human clothing.

NHS England said it had decided to publish the report “in full in line with the wishes of the families and given the level of detail already in the public domain”.

Liars. They've published it because they've been backed into a corner and have no choice, plus they've almost certainly been promised nothing will happen to the ones responsible for his freedom.

Dr Jessica Sokolov, the regional medical director at NHS England (Midlands), said: “It’s clear the system got it wrong, including the NHS, and the consequences of when this happens can be devastating. “This is not acceptable, and I unreservedly apologise to the families of victims on behalf of the NHS and the organisations involved in delivering care to Valdo Calocane before this incident took place.”

A government organisation that seeks to gag those complaining about its actions shouldn’t be trusted anymore.
