What Sort Of Orders Should Be Used Against...?

...'Telegraph' subs who mangle the English language like this?
Christian teachers who tell pupils that gay marriages is “wrong” should have anti-terror banning orders used against them, a Tory MP has argued.
/facepalm
Mark Spencer has called on Extremism Disruption Orders (EDOs), which were introduced by the Government to crack down on hate preachers and terrorist propagandists, to be used to stop children being taught that same-sex marriage is a sin.
Won't have far to go, then, Mark. Just pop into any local mosque...

They sure love the terrorist label don't they. Soon it will be a terrorist offence to put the wrong rubbish in the recycling bins.

Terrorism is used for anything that the government doesn't like. Free speech, people power, opinions.

Because having a negative opinion about gay marriage is absolutely equal to mass murder and decapitation.

I can see why Mark Spencer (who he?) might be confused.

But real terrorism, such as that being fostered and festered in mosques and Muslim schools all over Brtain, is left well alone.

And this guy is supposed to be a Conservative! Ye Gods!

Another case of using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. I don't like listening to Elton John. I think his music is crap and he didn't write the words to his most famous songs anyway (Bernie Taupin is the bloke to blame) but under this idiot MP's suggestions, any comment made by me in public regarding John's music could be termed homophobic. Quite a few years ago, I was censured at work on a diversity course (black is good, Asian is better, white is racism personified) by saying that I had no problem with homosexuality being accepted but I would have a problem if it became compulsory. If you look at any form of despotic or totalitarian society, the first thing that disappears (after humour) is not being able to voice an opinion on the grounds that it may offend 'someone', usually a member of the ruling class or an opportunist who sees a way to get a wodge of cash as compensation for their emotional hurt. We are rapidly approaching that stage in this country where only selected people are allowed to have an opinion (try having a letter praising the Tory Party in the Guardian or the Labour Party in the Daily Mail). We don't have an impartial press, and we don't have an impartial televison news network. We also don't have a true democracy. but there is no feasible alternative. What was it Private Frazer used to say on 'Dad's Army'?

Isn't it already?!?

"Because having a negative opinion about gay marriage is absolutely equal to mass murder and decapitation."

Lost: sense of proportion. If found, please return to the progressives. Reward offered with someone else's money.

"And this guy is supposed to be a Conservative!"

I do believe that's the most depressing aspect.

"...try having a letter praising the Tory Party in the Guardian or the Labour Party in the Daily Mail..."

Until they need clickbait, of course.
