Unforeseen Consequences...

...I wonder what that phrase is in Welsh?
Residents in a Denbighshire village say they feel like they are being "cut off" after their local bus service provider told them their stop was being axed following the introduction of the 20mph speed limit.

You'd need a heart of stone, wouldn't you?

Arriva Wales will no longer serve the village of Llandegla from 14 January after reviewing its timetable and service provision in North Wales. This will have a "huge impact" on everyone who relies on the service, according to Councillor Gwyneth Dillon, from Llandegla Community Council.

I wonder what they thought about the absurd 20mph limit proposal. Were they in favour?

A Welsh Government spokesperson said: “We have been clear we will continually monitor any impacts of the new default 20mph speed limit on bus services."

Think you need to do a bit more than just 'monitor'...

For your headline question - lots of consonants.
Or "ffwc wff, cwnt!"
Iechyd da, bhoyo.
Reduce the speed limit a bit, bring back old open rear deck buses, and no need for Bus Stops. Customers just run and hop aboard the bus anywhere. Bring sandwiches and water because you might be on the bus for a wee while, look you. On the plus side you have plenty of time to get to know your fellow passengers.
Maybe have a change of horses every 15 or 20 miles.

I assume the bus company is going to change it's name to 'NonArriva'?I
A protest by the whole village about this may provide a result, especially as they won't be able to disperse as there is no bus service to take them home.

There used to be that 'joke' that the communists messed up in choosing Russia to implement their Ponzi idiocy. That if they'd thought about it the British (and our love of austerity and queueing, not to mention red-tape) would have ben ideal. I suspect that joke was based mainly on the obvious desire of the Scots and Welsh for such totalitarianism.

Notice that whilst the average Dai or Blodwen isn't allowed to travel far, or faster than walking, the 'elite' get to speed to their dachas in 'free' government vehicles (and it's only time before a separate lane is provided for them).

Point? the "unintended consequences" ... really aren't. You 'will' live in your "15 minute city", in government owned 'housing', and if they have to make it impossible to travel to get there well ...

Now shut up (they explained) and just eat zee bugs.

[I used to hate and despise politics, seeing the self-same types who used to 'want' to be prefects and hall-monitors at school going into it for power, prestige and money. I still believe anyone who wants to be a politician should, not only be barred from ever serving as such, but shot on sight.

Now? I like it, as they are self-filtering and self-identifying (just like the covidiots and palestibarbarians). Now if we could only find a , successful this time please, new Guy].

😂

"I assume the bus company is going to change it's name to 'NonArriva'?I"

A better and more accurate rebranding than 'New Coke'!

A joke that doesn't seem so funny now!
