A dog owner will appear in court next week after her Staffie attacked a number of dogs at Withy Grove Park in Bamber Bridge. Kimberley Bond, 51, of Grove Street, Bamber Bridge, was arrested in July and charged with being in charge of ‘a dog dangerously out of control’.
And of course, instead of ending the wothless mutt then and there, it was seized alive to soak up taxpayer cash until the trial, as if it were a vital piece of evidence....
The silver female Staffie was seized by Lancashire Police and remains in kennels pending the outcome of its owner’s court case.
And as usual in these cases, the owner had been given a chance to retain her mauler, and didn't:
The 51-year-old is further charged with failing to comply with a community protection notice in relation to the dog.
Prior to her arrest, Bond was told she must comply with a number of conditions, including ensuring that her back garden was secure, that the dog was only walked by an adult and that it remained on a 1m lead at all times, whilst wearing a Baskerville muzzle. But according to local reports, the dog continued to escape and menace other dogs in Withy Grove Park - the largest green space in Bamber Bridge and a popular children’s play area.

The Plods are probably too busy sitting on their backsides trawling social media looking for hurty-words and phobias, going after soft targets who won't riot or call them waaaaaycist or phobic, giving the illusion of activity and massaging otherwise lamentable clear-up and detection rates. When did you last seen a proper regular police foot patrol, except after a crime, for "reassurance".
This was the pattern a few years ago after the appalling Burnt Oak bus stop stabbing. I was a local spokesman on ITV and for the entire four hours we were there, not a single Plod, not even a car driving past. They weren't even in their local Costa "office" where they usually hang out doing fuck all.
It was exactly the same after Craig Small was shot to death in Harrow Road a couple of years previously and that I had the misfortune of being local spokesman.
On both occasions, my question to the camera. "Where are the proactive police patrols"
