.Another Day, Another Senseless Death...

Star Lane in Canning Town was shut in both directions between Manor Road and Durham Road at around 5am on Wednesday, September 9, with forensic teams seen working at the scene. A shopkeeper claimed the incident involved an elderly man who died after being bitten on the hand by a dog.

And yet, unlike the incident in Yorkshire, which quickly generated police appeals to the public and has resulted in a man being charges in short order, there's been little in the news - the 'Mail' has found a juicier story to worry like a bone from across the pond. 

He said: "A customer had a large dog which went for the man’s small dog.

It will be interesting to find out the breed, when - or if - he's evetually caught. 

Another shopkeeper said the man had been walking his small dog home from the park when the incident occurred.

A lot of shopkeepers in this area - did no-one have a suggrstion as to who the mystery man might bre, perhaps a regular customer?  Even Facebook has no commentd on th teo stories they have up. 

Hsve we become so used to the threat it's no longer newsworthy?

A woman who was in charge of an out-of-control XL bully dog which killed her teenage cousin has avoided prison.Kelcie Reed, 24, received an 18-week prison sentence – suspended for 18 months – after 19-year-old Morgan Dorsett died when she was attacked by the large dog.

I had to scroll back pretty far on my blog, past all the others, to find this particular XL Bully fatality.  

Imposing the suspended sentence with a nine-month mental health treatment requirement, Judge Anna Richardson said: “This is a case that was utterly tragic for Morgan Dorsett’s family and it has also had a huge impact upon you. 

“I accept not a comparable impact, but a huge impact.

It comes as little surprise anymore when a white liberal female judge shows just why she's unsuited to that role - like XL Bully maulings, there's just so much evidence around...the only thing missing is some victim-blaming. 

The court heard the dog attacked Miss Dorsett when she suffered a seizure from the effects of taking cocaine.

Spoke too soon!  

Mr Willmott said there had been previous incidents with Prince where he had killed another dog and Reed had previously posted on Facebook asking for advice on training. “It was apparent this this dog had the capacity to cause considerable harm,” he said.

It was apparent by vitue of it's breed, long before anything else! 

Reed’s boyfriend held a Government exemption certificate for keeping an XL bully and the dog – that weighed up to 55kg – was muzzled and kept on a lead while in public.

Proof once again that possession of a piece of government-mandated paper means nothing to a person trying to stop a fighting-breed mutt weighing as much as a male leopard.

Miss Dorsett’s younger sister, Caeila Dorsett, said her family had many unanswered questions about what happened.

I'll bet they do! Like, why the leniency?  

Sarah Regan, defending, said Reed had no prior knowledge of previous incidents with Prince and the attack on the other dog had never been reported to the police. “What did happen was sudden and unexpected, and could never have been anticipated by her,” she said.

It could have been anticipated by anyone who wasn't stone stupid! 

Miss Regan said Reed had developed PTSD since the incident and was also caring for her nine-month-old baby.

Ah, not so stupid she didn't get herself knocked up so she could plead her belly.... 

Detective Sergeant Rich Glanville, from Avon and Somerset Police, said: “Morgan’s family have shown great courage despite experiencing such a terrible loss and we want to thank them for their patience and support through what’s been a really tough 18 months for them, while our investigation and court proceedings took place. 

“It’s truly devastating that not only have they lost a loved one, but that Reed has not given them the answers about what happened that night – answers they deserve to have. 

“This was a completely avoidable tragedy and was caused because Reed failed to have control over a dangerous breed of dog.”

A dangerous breed of dog that anyone can have as long as they get a piece of paper. A killing weapon, if you wanted to be sure to get away with murder. Almost as good at that as a car.

Just Euthanise The Dangerous Bitch...

 ...and put the owner in jail. Or vice versa, I'm sure the NHS will assist...

A dog owner will appear in court next week after her Staffie attacked a number of dogs at Withy Grove Park in Bamber Bridge. Kimberley Bond, 51, of Grove Street, Bamber Bridge, was arrested in July and charged with being in charge of ‘a dog dangerously out of control’.

And of course, instead of ending the wothless mutt then and there, it was seized alive to soak up taxpayer cash until the trial, as if it were a vital piece of evidence.... 

The silver female Staffie was seized by Lancashire Police and remains in kennels pending the outcome of its owner’s court case.

And as usual in these cases, the owner had been given a chance to retain her mauler, and didn't: 

The 51-year-old is further charged with failing to comply with a community protection notice in relation to the dog. 

Prior to her arrest, Bond was told she must comply with a number of conditions, including ensuring that her back garden was secure, that the dog was only walked by an adult and that it remained on a 1m lead at all times, whilst wearing a Baskerville muzzle. But according to local reports, the dog continued to escape and menace other dogs in Withy Grove Park - the largest green space in Bamber Bridge and a popular children’s play area.

And so it goes on and on... 

Yes, It's The 'New XL Bully' Again

A Fife mum has described the heartache of losing her “first baby” during a vicious dog attack.

No, thankfully not an actual baby. You have to appreciate how modern middle class ‘dog people’ see things.

Kaitlyn Christine’s dog, Bonnie, was euthanised in the early hours of Saturday due to the extent of her injuries.

The five-year-old basset hound was being walked in Cardenden on Friday afternoon when the attack happened.Kaitlyn is worried the attacking dog will strike again if the owner is not traced.

It is believed the animal is a black cane corso or mastiff-style breed. The owner of the animal has not been identified.

Kaitlyn said she is determined to find the attacking dog’s owner and has contacted the police.

Meanwhile, in Glasgow, evidence that relying on the police is a futile hope:

A devastated family are reeling from the loss of their little dog after a "brutal" street attack that "torn her to shreds".

And the culprit? Yes, Reader, you guessed it: 

Andrew Little was walking his two beagles Treacle and Bonnie around their housing estate in Robroyston on Saturday evening when an off-lead dog bolted towards them. During the 16-second attack, the bullmastiff inflicted fatal injuries to Treacle whilst also leaving Andrew with a broken hand as he tried protect his beloved pets.

"All of this has happened within 20 seconds, it's absolutely torn our little dog to shreds."

And the culprir has been identified and traced, but little has been done: 

When the devastated pair returned to their home in the estate, which they only moved into three weeks ago with their 2-year-old daughter, they reported the incident to police.To date, they say the bullmastiff has not been removed from its home and they are now calling for more action to be taken to ensure the neighbourhood is safe.

I bet at least the cops have identified the locatiion on the PNC so they aren't caught out again should they rock up at the house to make an arrest. 

Police Scotland say they are continuing to investigate the incident.

"I appreciate they would originally have potentially just logged it as a dog on dog, but we've also now updated them that there is human injury here as well, and they've still not given us any contact whatsoever."

They are as useless as their colleagues down south. 

 

What Are The Police Playing At?

The saga of the chav dog attack has a new wrinkle:

The canine – a pocket bully breed – is now in police custody, and Freddy has been given seven days, up until Tuesday, to find a suitable home for him; otherwise, he will be put down.

Indicating they haven’t charged anyone under the DDA, but why not, and more to the point, since when do the police run a ‘cooling off period’ for idiot chavs and their vicious mutts? 

Now, ex-Holly, whom he shares daughter Isla with, has spoken out and begged anyone who can take the dog in to do so before it is too late.

And there will be plenty of idiots happy to do so! The celebrity-worshippers will be vying with the pitnutters to take on this liability!

'He's the nicest dog and this is totally out of character for him. He wouldn't hurt a fly.'

Bur will maul your granny!

Another Good Reason to Euthanise at the Scene - H&S

The death of a kennel owner who died after being attacked by a dog is to be investigated. Adam Watts was the owner and operator of Juniper Kennels and Cattery in Angus when he was attacked on December 22, 2021.

Scotland again. And it's not like similar hasn't happened this side of the Border.  

A Fatal Accident Inquiry is to be held into the death and is expected to focus on the management of potentially dangerous dogs in temporary kennels and how Police Scotland shares dogs’ histories and behaviours with kennel operators.

When they have actually seized a snarling ball of muscle and teeth instead of ignoring it and leaving it in the community , do you really need details? Can't you tell for yourself that it's dangerous? 

Save Our Siezed Dogs and Salt’s Helping Hounds Rescue said Mr Watts had died while “working with the dogs he loved and was so passionate about”.

Perhaps if he hadn't been so 'passionate' he'd have been more careful? Perhaps the inquiry should recommend that being an 'animal lover' isn't sufficient qualification to run kennels like these, and is in fact contra-indicated. 

Debbie Carroll of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, Scotland’s death investigation authority, said:  “The death of Adam Watts occurred while in the course of his employment and as such a Fatal Accident Inquiry is mandatory.        

“The lodging of the First Notice enables FAI proceedings to commence under the direction of the Sheriff.            

“Mr Watts’ family will continue to be kept informed of significant developments as court proceedings progress.” 

Mr Watts family woulf be best advised to secure a lawyer as feral and vicious as the mutt that killed him, who can point out that if police standing orders were to shoot such beasts at the scene, he'd still be alive. 

These Are Apparantly 'Celebrities'?

If only they had been real ones maybe something would finally be done about these wretched dogs...

Freddy Brazier's nan Jackiey Budden was attacked by his bulldog Pablo and her neighbours called the police days before he was mauled by the animal.The son of Jeff Brazier and the late Jade Goody, 21, spent eight hours in hospital getting stitches on Monday after his dog savagely bit him at his nan's London home.

No Reader, I've no idea either... 

Jackiey was injured while attempting to pull Pablo off of him. Freddy was shocked when it happened and was left in a lot of pain,' reported The Sun.

He shouldn't have been that shocked, it wasn't the vicious brute's first attempt at biting the hand that feeds it!

Now it has been revealed that it is not the first time the bulldog has attacked with emergency services attending the scene to help last week.

Police and the fire brigade were called on July 16 by a concerned neighbour who heard screams of agony as the dog gripped onto Jackiey, which left her needing medical treatment. Four days later Pablo attacked again leaving both Freddy and Jackiey injured and requiring hospital treatment.

'Both the police and the fire brigade attended, but fortunately it wasn't too serious – and they agreed not to pursue criminal charges.

Bet that decision's being reviewed now!  It's classed as a 'pocket bully' so noy included on the DDA but probably should have been from the get-go if only the Tories had done a proper job.

'It's been an awful few days and Freddy is devastated as he absolutely adores that dog and Pablo is a huge part of the family.'

Nornally I'd take the piss out of such a statement, but with this sort of 'family' it's ptobably not so unusual. 

Yet Another....

It seems they come more frequently than buses these days...

A man has been arrested after a dog caused serious injuries to two people on Saturday. Sussex Police said officers were called to Sunningdale Court in the Southgate area of Crawley, West Sussex, at about 13:00 BST, following reports of a dog dangerously out of control.

Another XL bully? No, Reader, its successor as the four-legged weapon/penis substitute for social inadequates on the streets of Britain. 

Armed and neighbourhood policing officers were sent to the scene and the Cane Corso breed dog was secured and assessed before being "humanely put to sleep in the interest of public safety and animal welfare", said the force.

And the mutt's owner? 

A 27-year-old man, believed to be the animal's owner, was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody, police confirmed.

Sussex Police said it was investigating the circumstances and urged anyone with relevant information to get in touch.

One hopes the CPS won't drop the ball this time. The antisocial owners of these things need to be brought to heel. 

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Rosie said she had approached a woman in a car who looked to be struggling with a dog, but the dog turned and lunged for her, and bit her on her left hand. 

"It just went from bad to worse after that," she said.

Except for the arrival of a man, it would have been potentially fatal… 

As Rosie turned to run away, the dog, which had no collar or lead, got hold of the backs of her legs, resulting in puncture wounds to her legs, shins, ankles, torso, and knees. 

"I smashed my head on the road because the dog dragged me down to the floor and I've got extensive bruising everywhere. It's pretty horrific," said Rosie. 

A passing lorry driver stopped to save the screaming victim, hitting the dog, which was on top of Rosie, with a makeshift weapon.

"That lorry driver saved my life without question," she said.

 Yes, he did.

A young man and a woman were attacked earlier in the day.

Oh. No lorry driver around for them, then. Where were the cops?

Lancashire Police said it had received numerous reports of a dog attacking people, but no arrests had been made and no animal has been seized.

Why not? 

Melanie says the dog should be "seized and destroyed" to stop it from attacking others. 

"You're supposed to be protected in this country. You can't just leave it to be a dog that's free to do it again. It's shocking."

It is, undoubedly. It's nonetheless unsurprising.

White Woman 'Savior Syndrome ' Goes Wrong

A woman was left needing surgery after being mauled by her dog - which she had adopted on Facebook three weeks earlier. Charlotte Potts, 32, adopted the one-year-old Cane Corso cross American Bulldog from a breeder on Facebook.

Adopting a powerful breed from Facebook, what could possibly go wrong?  

Initially, the dog - called Blue - settled in well and Charlotte says he didn't "show any aggression" towards her and her family. But on her routine walk on Saturday morning, July 4, Blue turned on Charlotte and attacked her, sinking his jaws into her legs after ripping through her trousers.She called for her younger brother, eight, to run and leave the enclosed dog park and call for help whilst Blue continued to attack her. The dog then went for Charlotte's right arm which she allowed him to do whilst she used her left arm to tie his lead to a fence.

The kid is lucky it didn’t turn on him. She would never have fought it off. 

The whole ordeal lasted around eight minutes, and Charlotte was taken to hospital by ambulance whilst the dog was euthanised by the police.

With extreme prejudice, I hope!

"It felt like a really long time - I didn't think I was going to get out of there. There's six levels of dog bites, and six is fatal - this one was level five. I love dogs, but I want to raise awareness around making sure dogs are fully assessed before being rehomed."

Thanks a lot, sweetie but most of us are sensible enough not to acquire a misbegotten mutt of unknown background from social media in the first place! Certainly not one of a bloodsport heritage that probably outweighs us.

In the weeks before the attack, police visited Charlotte after receiving an anonymous tip off that she owned an XL Bully. They determined that Blue was an American Bulldog by Vegetable taking a photo of his head and as a result, did not take him away.

Isn't it about time there were restrictions on dog ownership no matter the breed? Didn’t any of the cops take a look at the hulking brute and suggest to her she wouldn’t be able to control it if it went berserk?

How Many More Of These Do We Have To Tolerate?

Two people have been arrested after a pit bull-type dog attacked a woman and seriously injured her pet.The unaccompanied dog attacked the victim's pet, near Hemlington Lake in Middlesbrough on Sunday, leaving it requiring emergency veterinary treatment.

The puppy, a German Shepherd, did not survive. 

Cleveland Police said the woman received hospital treatment after being bitten and due to the "potential risk to other people in the immediate area" a specially trained officer had to put the pit bull-type dog down near the scene.

And by ‘specially trained officer’ they been an ARV occupant, who shot the vicious mutt dead, causing howls of anguish from the usual suspects… 

The force said a man and a woman in their 30s were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been bailed.

Assistant Chief Constable Dave Sutherland said: "We understand anyone who witnessed the initial attack or the aftermath may have experienced shock or distress, however, the safety of the public is always paramount." The force has launched an appeal for information and is in contact with experts who will carry out tests to establish the breed of the dog which carried out the attack.

Tests that can be carried out on a dead animal, so why the need to take others alive? 

They Aren't Dubbed 'Carnage Corsos' For Nothing...

A man has been banned from owning a dog for seven years and has had four of his pets taken away after he pleaded guilty to having a dog dangerously out of control in a public place. Leyion Charles-Bain, 64, of Military Road, Northampton, was also given a one-year community order by the town's magistrates.

Yes, it’s the replacement mutt for the bloodsport breed enthusiast who doesn’t want an XL bully any more, because of the hassle of compliance with restrictions.  The sort that a man half his age would find it difficult to control.

Police said Charles-Bain had been walking two cane corsos - a large, muscular, mastiff-type breed - on The Racecourse, a park near the town centre, on 6 March 2025 when they had attacked two other dogs. Charles-Bain's four dogs were handed over to the police for rehoming.

For ‘rehoming’ in a vet’s incinerator one hopes… 

Meanwhile, in another county:

A dog owner was found dead days after his two pets were put down after being visited by police. Arminas Jakubauskas, 34, was discovered dead at his home on Northgate in Lowestoft on Saturday. Lowestoft Police had said before Mr Jakubauskas’ death that officers attended his home in the town on Monday, June 22 “due to safety concerns raised by the owner of two dogs”.

Suffolk police said the dogs “were assessed to be dangerous and a risk to public safety” and were sedated by specially trained officers before being taken to a vet.

The statement added: “The dogs, with the permission of the owner, were then euthanised.”

And the family dispute this, of course, scenting compo the way a cane corso scents a delicious toddler… 

The Lithuanian national who lived alone was described by his sister, Eglè Jakubauskaitė, as “a lovely man who always had a smile on his face”.However, Ms Jakubauskaitė, who lost contact with Mr Jakubauskas on June 24, believes her brother wouldn’t have allowed his dogs, Brisius and Merė, to be killed. 

“We have also been told that it was publicly stated that he had requested for his dogs to be euthanised. 

“Our family believes this is not true. He loved his dogs deeply and could never have wanted this to happen. 

The claim is going to be that the cops bullied him into it, no doubt. That’s already the claim from the ‘ae, poor doggies’ crowd on social media, naturally.

“The loss of his dogs had a profound impact on his mental state.” 

Ms Jakubauskaitė explained that the family believed that the events surrounding their euthanasia contributed to his poor mental health, which ultimately led to his death.

He sounds just like the kind of unstable, easily-led individual who shouldn’t travel been put in charge of powerful and aggressive mutts! 

Just As Soft As In The UK...

A French man has been convicted after his illegally imported pit bull dog killed his six-month pregnant girlfriend.

Don't start cheering just yet... 

Christophe Ellul, 51, received a suspended four-year sentence after DNA tests showed his dog, Curtis, was responsible for the 2019 attack that killed Elisa Pilarski.

And of course, he tried to wriggle out of it, as these owners always do: 

Ellul argued that Curtis, brought from the Netherlands, was not aggressive. He also attempted to blame the dogs that had been involved in a deer hunt in the forest for his girlfriend's death. However, DNA tests revealed that the pit bull had carried out the deadly attack.Sixty-two hunting hounds and the couple's other five dogs were also tested to exclude their involvement.

Imagine what that must have cost, in time and money! End that's not the worst of it...

In March, the presiding judge said Curtis now lives 'in a four-square-meter enclosure, fenced to prevent escape, with access to a sunny six-square-meter yard'. A 'plastic bone' is provided for him. His general condition is 'satisfactory,' his 'coat is shiny,' he has 'gained weight' and 'shows no signs of physical or mental suffering,' according to the report.

Yes, that's concern for the welfare and comfort of the killer beast that should already be lying on a slab at the vets awaiting cremation. But not if these idiots can help it! 

Animal activists have called for his pardon, including a petition on Change.org, which has received more than 80,000 signatures urging Curtis to be transferred to an animal shelter.

I would have said that France lacks the sort of soft-brain moron ‘animal lovers’ that would campaign to see a mutt that has killed a person spared destruction, unlike in the UK or US, but I’d obviously be wrong.

What A Surprise, Said No-one….

A mother has told a court that she thought her daughter was going to die after she was attacked by a retired police officer’s two rottweilers

.Aha, this case! 

Nigel Gray’s dogs, Indiana and Dakota, ‘tossed the girl around like a toy’ during the incident in Raphael Park, East London.

As we saw from social media, it wasn’t a first attack. 

The attack was the second in two years involving the 63-year-old’s pets, but he was not banned from keeping dogs in the future and he was handed a suspended prison sentence.The elderly victim of the first of Gray’s dogs’ attacks – who had to have his dog put down as a result – called the sentence a ‘joke’.

An elderly man loses his pet and police are not interested and so a child is almost killed. He might be retired but the other cops days should be numbered! 

Gray was not banned from keeping dogs in the future, but the court heard he had already agreed to the two rottweilers being destroyed.

Cant help feeling that was an easy cop-out for him, and now he’s free as a bird to get another mutt and use it as a weapon! 

Not Letting This Mutt Have It's 'One Bite'...

A dog has died after being attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier.

The incident took place on a footpath near Nightingale Road in Pakefield between 2.25pm and 2.55pm on April 8.

I'd imagine owners believe at that time they will be safe to walk their pet without coming into contact with dangerous mutts but not on this occasion.

The Staffy, which was on a lead, bit a cockapoo, also on a lead, when it was being walked along the footpath near the beach.

Officers are asking anyone with any information to contact Suffolk Constabulary quoting the crime reference 37/20460/26.

Odd that the police are taking it seriously, when they usually do all they can to swerve dog-on-dog attacks, but enlightement, as ever, comes from social media below.

All The Usual Hallmarks

Three Staffordshire Bull Terriers attacked a woman as she was carrying her six-day old baby who was left with a cut to their head after being bitten and clawed.

Gosh, is it Wales again? 

Jason Stafford, 49, was the owner of the three dogs which became dangerously out of control and latched onto the victim's feet and wrist during the savage attack in Cardiff. The three Staffordshire Bull Terriers have been destroyed as a result of the incident.

Is it a case where the owner did nothing and left it to others to act? 

A friend heard the woman's screams and saw one of the dogs had latched on to her wrist. He managed to get the dogs off of her and she left the area with her baby.

Eventually, Stafford was able to pacify the dogs but the injuries sustained by the victims were described as "appalling".

And is it a case where there have been previous issues with the mutts that, if dealt with properly, would have prevented this attack? 

The court heard there had been a previous incident in December where the dogs had attacked another individual and a safety plan had been put in place, but the defendant had "chosen to ignore" this.

And is the owner a known criminal? 

Among the defendant's previous convictions are offences of affray, robbery and drink driving.

*sighs* And is he hoping to get a lesser sentence? 

In mitigation, Derrick Gooden said  the dogs have since been destroyed and the defendant has been out of trouble for more than 20 years, but has a number of health issues.

And did it work? 

Stafford was sentenced to a total of two years imprisonment. The defendant was also disqualified from having custody of dogs for 10 years.

A classic case which ticks all the modern boxes! 

A Hat Trick!

A woman has died after being attacked by two dogs at a house in Wolverhampton. Emergency crews were sent to Willis Pearson Avenue, in the Bilston area of the city, at about 23:30 BST on Wednesday after reports a woman in her 70s had been injured. She died at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

And at least the taxpayer won’t be on the hook until any trial of the owner this time:

The dogs, not believed to be a banned breed, were later destroyed and had continued to be aggressive towards emergency services at the scene, the force added.

A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death. He was taken to hospital after receiving hand injuries.

The breed hasn’t been established, but there are clues: 

Mr Wright said the two dogs were 'Rotweiller-like' and very powerful. 

'They were really big dogs,' he said. 

'The other day a bloke was walking down the road with his kid and they turned back because of the dogs. 

'I used to see the guy who lived with Carol walking them, but it was more like them walking him, they would drag him down the road. 

'He had no control over them whatsoever. 

'The two dogs had been there about two or three months.

Maybe Rottweilers, maybe the new monster on the block, the Cane Corso. Maybe some crossbreed. But undoubtedly a risk to the neighbourhood. 

If only neighbours felt confident that the authorities would act on reports of this, the tragedy might have been avoided. But clearly they didn’t. 

The Answer’s In Your Own Hands…

Police spending on kennels and veterinary bills in England and Wales has more than tripled since the XL bully ban came into force, with some forces recording an almost 500% spending increase since the new law was enacted in 2024.

There's a simple answer, and it’s ‘when you rock up to an attack, shoot the mutts then and there!’ You don’t need a live dog to determine the breed, a dead one will do just fine.

West Mercia police reported the biggest increase, with annual costs rising from £92,383 in 2022-23 to £715,349 in 2025-26, a 674% increase.

Wales again? What is it with that place? 

John Campion, the Conservative police and crime commissioner for the area, said: “Policing is already stretched, and rising costs and growing demand are pushing resources to the limit. The added burden, created by the government and public, of paying for kennelling illegal dogs places even more pressure on already tight budgets.“Kennelling is essential for public safety, but without proper government support these costs risk impacting frontline services.”

No, what’s essential for public safety is the removal of the danger, and that can just as easily be in a garbage bag as in a dog van. It should be already be SOP for any incident where a person or pet has been killed by these things.

Patrick O’Hara, the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) tactical lead on dangerous dogs, said he had “not known this type of demand in my 26 years’ service”. “Our kennelling needs have gone up by about one-third since the ban came into force and the demand isn’t slowing down so we’re having to really concentrate on threat, harm and risk,” he told the BBC. “In the short term I think we will continue to see dog attacks as these dogs start to come of age and reach maturity. So I think it’s going to probably get worse before it gets better.”

Or maybe you’ll only have to shoot one or two to get the rest of owners to comply? 

“It does seem like the dogs being kennelled are the dogs which are more dangerous, but it is obviously the case that they’re stuck in kennels and we don’t want that from a dog welfare perspective, and it’s also something that’s sad from an owner perspective,” said Benedict Treloar, co-founder of the Campaign for Evidence-Based Regulation of Dangerous Dogs (CEBRDD).

Why is the welfare of mutts that have killed people and pets even a factor in your deliberations? There are other agebcies to worry about that:

The RSPCA, which did not support the XL bully ban, wants to see compulsory recording of dog bite incidents to help understand the scale of the problem and its causes, with a greater focus on education and prevention, rather than seizing animals.

Yes, they really are suggesting that killer animals be left with the useless owners. Another reason not to give them any money, as if one was needed.

Shall We Play ‘Guess The Breed’?

 No need, it's (according to social media and other reports), a so-called pocket bully, smaller and not included in the DDA as 'not dangerous'.

The BBC has asked police how old the child was and what breed the dogs were.

And at the time of this report in the BBC, they didn't answer. They did act, at least!  

The force said one dog had been destroyed on the street and another at the house had been seized.

That mutt has also now been disposed of. 

District commander for Redcar and Cleveland Emily Harrison said officers remained at the address and an investigation was taking place. "Understandably this is a distressing and tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the child's family," Harrison said. "I would encourage anyone who has concerns or information to please speak to an officer."

It's a bit late now, the mutts are dead what is there to be concerned about? Other than, perhaps, when the DDA is going to be tightened up to include all strains of this ghastly breed, or when social services are going to begin to demand that possession of these dogs is incompatible with allowing children in your house, and neither of those are anything the police can push for.

When Is Enough Going To Be Enough?

A dog was shot dead by armed officers after a man was attacked earlier today. Armed police officers were called to Hillside at around 10.45am today, April 7, to reports two dogs were on the loose on Lynton Road.A spokesperson for the force said in order to prevent further harm and stop threat to the public, a decision was made to destroy one of the dogs at the scene.The force did not say anyone had been arrested at this time.

Why onlt shoot one loose mutt? Wht not both? When are the police going to shake off the fear of critiscim from the owners and idiots on social media and man up and do the job of keeping the public safe?

She appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, April 7 where she plead not guilty. She will go on trial next March.Following the incident Merseyside Police confirmed a dog had been seized following the attack.
