If Not, Then When Is?

Because we've tried singing 'kumbayah', and futile weapon bans, and curtailing our freedoms, and turning our events into rings of steel and frankly, none of it's worked.

Children, Holocaust survivors, religious leaders all have had their fundamental right – to life – abridged by a father and son on a mission. Because they were Jewish. No more, no less – just because of their faith.

And also because of the terrorists' faith. There's no getting away from that.

And in this initial period, I know what it is not time for.

Oh? Do Tell...

It is not time to blame Anthony Albanese for failing to do what Benjamin Netanyahu or some in the Jewish community demanded. It is not time to stifle criticism of Israel under the guise of stopping antisemitism. It is not time (yet) to investigate the possible failings of our intelligence services in anticipating and stopping this. It is not time to ban protests and shy away from our international obligations. It is not time to dilute democracy with overreach laws. And it’s certainly not time to politicise by introducing an immigration system based on religion.

How fortumate  that it's 'not time' for you to stop anything the Left is fixated on, eh?

May we rise above this horror and national shame to be a better and stronger country. Where there is less dispute and more conversation. Less hatred and more compassion.

The hatred is all coming from one side, David, so good luck with fighting it with the usual performative theatre ands useless gestures targeting the tools and not the specific hands eager to wield them against their religious enemies wherever they are.

Well, You're The PM, What Do You Plan To Do About It?

Sir Keir Starmer called the move to block fans attending "wrong", adding "we will "not tolerate antisemitism on our streets", while there has also been criticism from other party leaders.

This is the decision to ban Israeli fans from attending a football match. Why? Well…

On Thursday, Aston Villa said the city's Safety Advisory Group (SAG) - which advises the council on whether to issue safety certificates - decided that fans of the Israeli club should not be permitted to attend the Europa League fixture on 6 November. On Friday evening the government said it would do "everything in our power" to make sure all fans could attend the match, adding that it was exploring what additional resources were required.

Why would additional resources be required, I mean, over and above those for any other football match? Could it be that there’s a sizeable population here in the UK that can’t be expected to control themselves whern Jews are on the streets being openly Jewish? Apart from the Met Police, that is?

We all know the real reason for this ban.

On Thursday, West Midlands Police said it had classified the fixture as "high risk" based on current intelligence and previous incidents, including "violent clashes and hate crime offences" between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv fans before a match in Amsterdam in November 2024. More than 60 people were arrested over the violence, which city officials described as a "toxic combination of antisemitism, hooliganism, and anger" over the war in Gaza, Israel and elsewhere in the Middle East.

How many of those 60 people were Israeli fans? Or doesn’t that even matter to plod who want a quiet life?

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said the revelation left the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, with "serious questions to answer" about why her department did "nothing" to avert the ban. She said: "This is a weak government that fails to act when required."

Well, you should know, I guess, Kemi....

A source close to Mahmood told the BBC that "this is categorically untrue".

Then call your dogs to heel. Unless secretly, you agree with the action they've taken.

Ignoring The Evidence....

Official figures have revealed that more infant deaths are linked to marriages between cousins than drug abuse during pregnancy. Data from the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) linked close relative marriages to the deaths or ill health of 72 infants younger than one-year-old in 2023/24. Meanwhile 27 deaths were linked to substance abuse during the pregnancy.

Well, that sounds like something the government should be taking a stand o...

Silly me. But then, even the NHS sees fit to ignore it.

The fresh findings come just weeks after the NHS was blasted for releasing fresh guidance that claimed cousin marriage offers benefits such as 'stronger extended family support systems'.

Not if the family doesn't survive, surely?

What About Mugshots?

Possessing photos of a Muslim woman without her hijab should be made a criminal offence, MPs have proposed. The Commons' women and equalities committee said pictures of a Muslim woman without her headscarf – taken without her consent – should be considered 'non-consensual intimate images'. Such photographs should be treated the same as child sex abuse images, possession of which can carry long prison sentences, the MPs said.

So what if they are arrested and require a mugshot? Oh, wait, we've already seen police cowardice with regard to that, havent we? They'll be delighted to have an excuse.

The proposals will deepen concerns that Islam is poised to win legal protections which are not afforded to other religions under British law.

Concerns that Labour are doing nothing to dispell.

It comes after a planned definition of Islamophobia being championed by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner was slammed for risking 'a blasphemy law by the back door'.

No, they are planning it via the front door. They've just got that bold.

Are You Genuinely Clueless, Or Just Obtuse?

C'mon lads, sometimes the answer's really just staring you in the face, isn't it?

The imam, who ran a mosque intended as a safe haven for gay and other marginalised Muslims, was in a car with another person on Saturday when a vehicle stopped in front of them and blocked their exit, police said.
“Two unknown suspects with covered faces got out of the vehicle and started firing multiple shots at the vehicle,” the Eastern Cape force said in a statement.
“Thereafter they fled the scene, and the driver noticed that Hendricks, who was seated at the back of the vehicle was shot and killed.”

Probably not a robbery attempt.
